Made this from the book Beyond Neutral by John Q. Adams. Measures 72 by 84. It reminds me of a school of fish so I quilted with wavy lines. I didn't notice till I took a pic that there is a boo boo, thinking on if I want to fix it or just leave it as I is. Regardless, I really love how it turned out, was really easy pattern.

Homespun 07-11-2016 04:20 AM

Beautiful...leave it!

zennia 07-11-2016 04:25 AM

Beautiful. I love the optical illusion effect.

fivepaws 07-11-2016 04:45 AM

Leave it. It took me awhile to locate it. At a glance or by a non-critic it would never be seen.

ManiacQuilter2 07-11-2016 05:22 AM

I too see a school of fishes. Nicely done on a black background. Those colors sure do pop!

tessagin 07-11-2016 05:28 AM

Love how the colors pop with the black background. If any one says anything just say it was "Amish" inspired. Nothing is perfect. Not only that if it gets lost or stolen, it's one way to identify.

PaperPrincess 07-11-2016 05:31 AM

Love the bold colors, and I also had to look a long time to find the unique fish. Doesn't really jump out at you.

QUILTNMO 07-11-2016 06:39 AM

vey pretty!!!!

QM 07-11-2016 06:51 AM

I love it. In every group, there is one who is 'not with the program'. IMHO, you should leave it.

QuiltnNan 07-11-2016 07:38 AM

nicely done... if you hadn't said something, i wouldn't have noticed

Tothill 07-11-2016 08:26 AM

I love the movement and colours in your quilt.

I think it is great as is, and if you had not said there was a booboo, I would not have seen it.

GailG 07-11-2016 08:40 AM

Leave it. Life is too short to worry about little boo boos.

Becky's Crafts 07-11-2016 08:44 AM

Very nice! I like your colors and wavy lines!!

Annz 07-11-2016 09:40 AM

Sharp colors and bright. Leave the boo boo alone.

paintmejudy 07-11-2016 02:12 PM

Not a boo boo, Jeanann - call it your humility block!

brandeesmom 07-11-2016 02:21 PM

Great pattern and really like the bright colors!

copycat 07-12-2016 02:53 AM

I would leave it. The colors are so vibrant and the quilt pattern keeps your eyes moving so no one other than a quilter would ever notice such a tiny boo boo. After you mentioned the pattern reminded you of a school of fish, I thought about finding Nemo.

twinkie 07-12-2016 02:57 AM

Very lovely quilt. I would leave it. I just faced the same problem. I opted to leave it.

LGJARN52 07-12-2016 03:24 AM

It took me a little while to find the mistake....it wouldn't be a problem with me. Two of my favorite quilts that I've made have a mistake.....one really noticeable, and the other only I know it's there. Remember that only God is perfect.

Ariannaquilts 07-12-2016 04:25 AM

Lovely quilt, once you get to this stage I wouldn't worry about changing a thing! Actually even before I quilted it if I found a design opportunity I would leave it as is.

Tartan 07-12-2016 04:28 AM

Great quilt! I always take a picture of my quilt tops do I can veiw them on my iPad. For some reason I can spot errors better that way. Since it is all quilted, I would live with it.

leighway 07-12-2016 04:36 AM

It looks good and breaks up the expected pattern...adds some interest over and above the main piece.

EmiliasNana 07-12-2016 04:58 AM

Not everyone is the same in any species, so just consider your fish unique and special. Definitely not evident at first, or second glance. Love it.

dinlauren 07-12-2016 05:36 AM

You did a really great job! No one is going to notice your mistake...don't make a bigger mess trying to fix such a tiny error. Call it creative license! LOL

roserips 07-12-2016 07:46 AM

The boobo just keeps one humble. The bright colors are so happy and make me feel good just looking at it. You made a beautiful quilt.

klswift 07-12-2016 08:37 AM

That is not a mistake - it is your special design element!!!! I agree that it has the feel of a school of fish.

gramquilter2 07-12-2016 02:50 PM

Love it the colors and the pattern are awesome. Mistakes are part of life and add to the charm.

Monika 07-12-2016 05:03 PM

Beautiful quilt!! Took me a while to find the goof, and I like it.

ccthomas 07-12-2016 06:12 PM

Nice quilt.

maviskw 07-12-2016 06:40 PM

I guess I'm the odd man out! I would fix it if that were possible. Now that you know it is there, that is the first place you will look, and it takes away from the all-over optical illusion. Sorry!
The quilt is way too beautiful to leave that. An applique of the correct piece over that spot won't be noticed.

zozee 07-12-2016 06:45 PM

That's really cool. Took me a long time to find the mistake. I normally opt to fix them when possible. But this one seems to add a bit of whimsy.

DebraK 07-12-2016 07:31 PM

you did a beautiful job with this quilt. Error and all. Really cool.

BrendaK 07-12-2016 08:43 PM

Love it. Do what you feel. I really like it. BrendaK

Wanabee Quiltin 07-13-2016 04:20 AM

Very nice quilt, it took me a long time to find your boo boo.

angelmama22 07-13-2016 08:00 AM

Don't look at it as a boo boo --- it's a design option! Very striking quilt!

Iraxy 07-13-2016 08:15 AM

Leave it in. Does not detract from the quilt and is a conversation starter.

redstilettos 07-13-2016 09:00 AM

I had to look very hard to find the "boo boo". I would leave it and if people comment, laugh and say "oh....it's a school of fish ....with a flying one!".
:)
It's perfect the way it is!

carolynjo 07-13-2016 12:35 PM

Just tell any critics that that lone fish was in a hurry to get to his destination.

cowgirlquilter 07-13-2016 12:44 PM

I think it is an awesome quilt.....just as it is!
