and I hope my DDH is going to be understanding! lol!

Our son moved and we ended up with his queen size bed for our guest room. Wonderful for us but then of course...that meant a mini-makeover for the room! So, it was only going to be 3 little decorative pillows. (I have 2 done and one to go). But now the little pillows seem lost in this sea of white...so I'm thinking I now "need" a bed runner for the foot of the bed. Then the wall at the head of the bed seems so bare...so it seems a wall hanging will also be "needed". ;)

What do you think? Think a bed runner and a wall hanging would be too much...or just the right touch for this guest room mini-makeover?

Thanks for your input! Karen

charismah 07-08-2011 02:46 PM

Oh...No way! It really does need a bed runner and a wall hanging...maybe 2?? Does that help?

Murphy 07-08-2011 02:47 PM

I think you have identified the needs quite nicely. This will make a most welcoming room for your guests with your "needed" additions. I am sure your DDH will understand when he sees the lovely room you will create. Go girl (smile)! Share the pics!!!

Beautiful quilt isn't it? But would you believe that I got this at Target a couple of years ago?! I won't feel so bad if I cover it...

stichinluvr 07-08-2011 02:52 PM

I think that sounds superb!!

Jennifer22206 07-08-2011 02:52 PM

I think it'll look great with a bed runner and wall hanging!

MZStitch 07-08-2011 02:54 PM

I love your pillows, very fun. Yes, a bed runner and quilt for the wall will be wonderful additions, and fun to create too!

I agree, you are just wanting to add some color and that works.

frauhahn 07-08-2011 03:02 PM

Definitely needs a bedrunner and a couple of wallhangings-guess you're going to be busy!

Maggiemay 07-08-2011 03:02 PM

I too think a hanging & bed runner would look nice. It will be very chic with it all coordinating!

CoriAmD 07-08-2011 03:03 PM

Yes, definately a bed runner and wall hanging - that will bring everything together and spark up the room.... ;-)

tealfalcon 07-08-2011 03:17 PM

I say add more....the white is pretty but you can add a runner and even do a Christmas one during the holidays

debcavan 07-08-2011 03:19 PM

The quilt is gorgeous, just gorgeous. It needs a bed runner to protect it.

jmabby 07-08-2011 03:19 PM

Just my opion, Wall hanging, 3 more pillows, and a bedrunner

Great idea! Seasonal runners and pillows!! Oh my... This could be addicting! Lol!

mtnative 07-08-2011 03:26 PM

I think a bed runner and wall hanging would be perfect for a mini-makeover.

craftybear 07-08-2011 03:28 PM

yes and be sure to decorate a cute lamp with fabric, need to make a rug from fabric strips and a cute mug rug if guest has drinks in there with a snack and a small tablecloth

Have fun!

MISHNJIM 07-08-2011 03:29 PM

You are doing a wonderful job with the mini make-over. Wallhanging definitely.

IngeMK 07-08-2011 03:34 PM

I love those pillows

MDMPanther 07-08-2011 03:35 PM

Kitsie 07-08-2011 03:48 PM

Absolutely have to agree!!

kristen0112 07-08-2011 03:54 PM

Absolutely!!! Post pics when you are done please!

Cottontop 07-08-2011 04:13 PM

Maybe I am too utilitarian...why just a bed runner....color it up good.

Aunt Patti 07-08-2011 04:16 PM

I really like your pillows
yes I would do a bed runner
and a wall hanging very pretty so far

pal 07-08-2011 04:19 PM

Ah, someone beat me to the valances. What's left - a dustruffle in one of the fabrics.

The pillows you made are perfect.

And one for Easter and thanksgiving and halloween. Or just seasonal change outs if you don't like to be that specific. Love your pillows.

Ditto. :)

IrelandDragonQuilting 07-08-2011 04:33 PM

The throw pillows are very pretty, but there is just something missing.... oh yea a bed runner and a wall quilt would just add that right something something.... hehehehe that is a pretty quilt you got from Target! Cannot wait to see it when you are finished.

momcpo 07-08-2011 04:35 PM

Color color color. Love the wholecloth, but love the dash of color.

TexasLadybug 07-08-2011 04:38 PM

Ok, I am going to throw in something totally different, what we did on moms which had a white spread much like this, was a small square quilt on diaganol (did i spell that right?) anyway, turned as a diamond, and it still showed a lot of the spread underneath. I think one more pillow in the center and yes, a wall hanging is perfect.. It is beautiful!

pal 07-08-2011 04:40 PM

Forget my idea about the dustruffle. The one you have on there is just right.

gaigai 07-08-2011 04:42 PM

A bed runner, or even a square quilt that can be placed diagonally (on point!) over the white as an accent. And yes, then a wall hanging. But of course you know that all things are seasonal, too, right? So you can, if you like, change the decor with the seasons! LOL

echoemb 07-08-2011 04:44 PM

this is starting to sound like my $800 screen door....

QuiltingJaguar 07-08-2011 04:45 PM

How neat, love your pillows. Suggest make a padded bigger headboard or such. A folded up throw to match at the foot of the bed would set it all off.

redquilter 07-08-2011 05:05 PM

The pillows are very nice, but the room definitely needs wallhangings and a bed runner.

asmmauer 07-08-2011 05:09 PM

Your pillows are adorable and a wallhanging and bed runner would be fantastic.
