Feathers are an excellent choice. I would think a cream color thread would be perfect. Something a few shade darker than your fabric. Beautiful quilt. Please post pictures once it's completed. Excellent job.

Feathers! Yes! Beautiful quilt!

Before I decide why would you want to use green?

WOW Your Quilt is Gorgeous!! What Pattern is that. I would Use Pink on top what is the back? If color coordinated I would use cream on the back so the Design really pops. Gorgeous

There is a bit of green in one of the fabrics, and I thought it would give it a sort of leafy look. Like a rose?

Absolutely beautiful quilt!!!!!

How about using clear thread on top and cream on back? That way you get the quilting without competition between colors.

The simpler the quilting, the more I would like it. The design is gorgeous and intricate...don't detract from it.

Ditter43 07-16-2010 02:47 PM

The quilt is beautiful. What I look for in the quilting....how well it fits or compliments the quilt, and how well it is done. I agree feathers would look great! :D

bejay28 07-16-2010 02:50 PM

Very nice.... cream quilting thread.....I don't think a dark thread because it may take away from the quilt design.... just a thought.....

CarolinePaj 07-16-2010 02:58 PM

That is fantastic and any colour you choose will be fantastic. Please remember to show again when you have quilted.

Hugs

Caroline

Sure is a beauty. No green. You don't want to take away from the main design. Keep it soft and simple.

Your quilt is stunning. If I saw this quilt for sale the pattern would draw me to it for purchase. You do great work.

smitty 07-16-2010 06:31 PM

no green please. any dark thread would take from the beautiful piecing. It would be very hard to put burgandy on
the bobbin. just when you least expect it, the dark color would show on the top and could ruin the whole thing. tension
is tricky with FM. a light cream with darker cream on the back would work. Stunning quilt !

WOW, WHAT A STUNNING QUILT, haven't gotton past the beauty of your quilt, but I think a cream color would look great and you will have no problem selling this beauty of a quilt! :) thanks for sharing!

Annz 07-16-2010 10:05 PM

I would use a darker cream.

Patched 07-17-2010 03:58 AM

Definitely like your decision to use cream to quilt your quilt. I always use the same in the top and bobbin, if your tension gets off just a bit that's one less worry. Your quilt if beautiful.

mawmawbeve_60 07-17-2010 04:13 AM

Cream thread, and feathers..my vote.....;)

csharp 07-17-2010 11:17 AM

Wow and double Wow this is so nice!!! Where did you get the pattern?? Love the colors, and would stick with a cream tread.

BettyM 07-17-2010 01:54 PM

What a beautiful quilt! Your grandmother would be proud of you!

Brenda Retzlaff 07-17-2010 10:37 PM

Your quilt is gorgeous. I would use the cream thread.

domaema 07-17-2010 10:58 PM

I would not use green. but the crean would really work. Donna

Kas 07-17-2010 11:02 PM

Do a test with a practice sandwich using all the fabrics in the quilt. Then you can see up close which thread would look the best. So many times I have done this and changed my mind about what I was so sure about ten mins. before. You must see it and audition.

And that is such stunning work. I know your grandma would be proud. I didn't know my grandmother quilted until I started to 19 years after her death. I feel like I missed out on something special.

iltoaz 07-19-2010 07:11 AM

Beautiful quilt! I agree and would use the darker cream if you want the quilting to stand out.

zz-pd 07-21-2010 03:13 AM

OK pineapple princes, that is my quilt :-D . I have this pattern thanks to one of my quilt angels, but cant make me a quilt until everyone else has one, and then I want to do it in deep jewel colors with gold, so I have to wait until I get SSS to get the fabric. I would go with cream, so as not to take anything away of your stunning quilt. God bless. Penny
