What to do with blocks that are not all the same size?

Wonky them! I recieved the blocks a couple of years ago from my Guild. my "presidents' " blocks made from a black and white 2 1/2" strip. Since no two quilters will ever have the same sized block, I just though the "wonky" block would work just fine. I had a great time playing with this quilt.

Nice job. I have a similar problem with some of mine. Will be using this idea! Thanks.

Wonderful!! It is the greatest idea and you'd never know what the plan was! I love how you used the white background.

Great job! I think the wonky setting is a great solution for exchange blocks. Your quilt is beautiful.

Can you tell me if you did the straight grain of fabric with the original blocks or with the finished side. I have a lot of 100 yr old blocks that slightly vary in size and quality of piecing. I will end up losing triangle points no matter what I do. This is really close but a better idea than what I was planning on doing. Thank you so much.

What a great way to balance all those off-sized blocks. I'll have to add that to my bag of tricks. Love your sashing and background for the blocks. Thanks for inspiring and sharing.

Both were cut "on grain". If you are concerned about the quality of your blocks, perhaps you should put some stabilizer On them to hold their shape. Sandy |

Love that idea. I bet it would work with orphan blocks too. Kind of a scrappy sampler.
