What to do with donated material..give it back

My daughters Mother in law purchased this material and never did anything with it. She knew I quilted and donated it to me, I returned the material to her in a quilt. She was very surprised.

Very pretty. Bet she was surprised. I once gave a lady a box of yarn someone gave me ( I don't crochet) and she brought me 8 crocheted afghans! I was surprised!
