Quilter Day-by-Day 08-29-2010 08:57 AM

my vote table runner or a wall hanging.

kclausing 08-29-2010 09:32 AM

I would use them as the basis for a new quilt. Take each one and create a log cabin around it. These can be the center squares. then just do regular log cabin squeares for the rest of the quilt.

QUILTNMO 08-29-2010 09:33 AM

you could sew them on a plain canvas bag

madamekelly 08-29-2010 01:28 PM

Tote bags. They only show one side at a time, so who will know?

Rose Lee 08-29-2010 04:47 PM

I agree, use it as the center of a quilt. Pillows would be nice, or 4 placemats.

rootyr 08-29-2010 05:20 PM

How about placemats?

buffy2 08-29-2010 06:21 PM

They are beautiful You should do something with them A lot of ideas here for you

Annz 08-29-2010 06:59 PM

tablerunners---pot holders etc. What are their dimensions?

earthwalker 08-29-2010 07:02 PM

I would definitely use them in a quilt..I really think if you don't use tablerunners or it's not practical to frame them a quilt would be the best bet.

IBQUILTIN 08-29-2010 07:41 PM

I vote for table runners. Its getting onto Christmas present time, and those would be great

wildyard 08-29-2010 07:53 PM

There is a potholder exchange going on here on the board, sign-up deadline is late October. Maybe turn them into potholders and join the exchange?

JudithAnn 08-29-2010 08:36 PM

Showcase them on a pillow case.

Sheree from Chicago 08-29-2010 08:46 PM

What a great pattern! There are so many possibilities. If they go with your decor, I would make toss pillows for the couch or bed.

damaquilts 08-30-2010 04:01 AM

I think I have decided to go with a table runner. But all the other ideas are great.
They are 8x8 BTW
Now just to see if I have any brown fabric to make sashings out of.
Next week. This week is housebreaking 2 adult foster dogs. A cocker spaniel and a chihuahua. Yep I am certifiably nuts. !!!

theresa.redington 08-30-2010 04:33 AM

I like the tablerunner idea, but was also thinking about putting sashing between them and start a center for a quilt, or use them for corners of quilt. Whatever you do, I'm sure it will be beautiful. :o)

skavanau 08-30-2010 06:43 AM

You could add a sash to all of them and make them the focal point of a lap quilt or a quilt.

Now that I have decided to make a table runner. First one ever. I need to decide what fabric to use for sashings. I chose 3 out of the 5 I pulled. I am trying to do this all from my stash. Opinions please.
Then I need to go look at table runners and see what others have done with them

wildyard 08-30-2010 08:56 AM

I definitely Like the 1st one... the brown.

skavanau 08-30-2010 09:45 AM

Out of the 3. The first one, Brown

Roselandc19 08-30-2010 10:24 AM

I have that same pattern and used poinsettia print on a white background and made table runners for Christmas as gifts. Everyone loved them.. or said they did!

ibeesewin 08-30-2010 10:33 AM

You could put them in individual frames.

theresa.redington 08-30-2010 11:16 AM

Definitely the brown. Reminds me of sunflowers!

I agree. It makes the flowers pop. K

mpspeedy 08-30-2010 12:19 PM

Use the square in a square method to set them on point and then alternate them with solid blocks of the same size in either a very light color or a very dark one. Use the same fabrics you used in the blocks or at least the same colors to make several different size borders. You could end up with a bed size quilt. It would be a shame to waste those blocks. You did a great job on them.

Olivia's Grammy 08-30-2010 12:52 PM

I vote for the brown.

Quilter Day-by-Day 08-30-2010 06:53 PM

Brown one.

Cyn 08-30-2010 07:12 PM

They are pretty and would look awesome as a table runner!

Lori L 08-30-2010 07:35 PM

I would use them in a quilt and would add blocks with appliqued or paper pieced flowers. I have a very definate picture in my mind.......send the blocks my way LOL

earthwalker 08-31-2010 04:39 PM

Brown looks the best to me.

zz-pd 09-01-2010 08:49 AM

Line them with black, and you have a stained glass look, they are beautiful, and you did a beautiful job on them God bless.

wraez 09-01-2010 07:33 PM
