I have a small quilt fast turning into a UFO because I don't know what to do with it.I used mostly charm squares that were a gift.
Not my colors,so don't want a table mat or wall hanging. It's about 20x20". Any ideas?

Colors aren't true in pic.Unpressed

Save it for a Doll Quilt Swap. If need be, applique something large in the center and it should pull the eye away from the rest.

lindyline 10-18-2010 02:09 AM

Keep it for the next round robin. I really like this one.

PegD 10-18-2010 02:37 AM

I love it. Put a border on it and use it as a lap quilt or a picnic quilt.

amma 10-18-2010 02:39 AM

A few more rows and you will have an adorable baby quilt :D:D:D

jemma 10-18-2010 02:44 AM

make a medallion center use the blocks as a strip arround it thin border--- applique would look good [multi coloured flowers] in the middle+outside border

thequilterslink 10-18-2010 02:54 AM

I think it is cute, nice and scrappy.

deema 10-18-2010 03:50 AM

Well, *I* would give it to my daughter to be used as a baby doll quilt. You could add a few borders and gift it to a new baby in your life...?

SueDor 10-18-2010 04:04 AM

How about a pillowcase?

mimisharon 10-18-2010 04:09 AM

Donate it to your local hospital's nursery or to the local law enforcement agencies to give to children. Border, sandwich, and quilt it for them if it's really not one you like. I think it's beautiful but I really like scrappy.

moonangel12 10-18-2010 04:09 AM

I think it's really cute! I vote doll quilt, or add a few borders and donate it for a baby quilt... If you know anyone having a baby soon it would make a great shower gift!

CarrieAnne 10-18-2010 04:17 AM

I think its cute too! I think itwould be a great baby quilt!

Murphy 10-18-2010 04:20 AM

Project Linus.

wvdek 10-18-2010 05:52 AM

Ditto all the above. I think it looks great. Save for next Doll Quilt Swap.

amityj 10-18-2010 05:52 AM

It would make a wonderful baby quilt if you add a border or two. Then give it to your local hospital or fire department:)

cherylynne 10-18-2010 06:45 AM

How about a preemie quilt. They are so little!

kristen0112 10-18-2010 06:51 AM

It seems like you could save those blocks and continue to add to them using scraps from other projects as you go eventually you'll have a big scrappy quilt with lots of memories from past projects.

Ripped on Scotch 10-18-2010 06:56 AM

I think it would a good center for a Round Robin. You may really like how it ends up when it's completed with all the rounds on it.

grammyp 10-18-2010 07:18 AM

You could make 3 more different blocks and make a lap quilt, or put borders so it is about 30" square and take it to a nursing home for someone to use in a wheel chair. I think it is lovely. But then I am a scrappy quilt girl.

leiladylei54 10-18-2010 07:33 AM

Oh I love it!!! Use it for a Doll's quilt???

Annaquilts 10-18-2010 07:37 AM

It is very cute. I thought the same doll quilt swap or maybe add several borders or sashing and make it a baby quilt to gift. As a doll quilt,my two little girls would love it for their dollies. ~smile~

JudithAnn 10-18-2010 12:25 PM

Add lots of borders and make it into "Quilts of Valor" project.

Lynnie25 10-18-2010 12:30 PM

I love it, my kind of quilt - scrappy !!! Lap quilt, charity quilt, I am sure if you decide to give it away to someone special, it will be much appreciated.

Friendly Quilter 10-18-2010 12:32 PM

add borders and make a baby quilt, or take sqs. apart and put sashing between each square and make a bigger baby quilt. I love the blocks.

Shibori 10-18-2010 12:41 PM

keep it in a ziplock bag and add blocks to it when you feel like it. Someday it will grow up and be a big beautiful quilt!

sewmom 10-18-2010 04:34 PM

I think it is very bright and cheerful. any of the previous suggestions would be fine. Let us know what you end up doing. :)

tooMuchFabric 10-18-2010 08:47 PM

donate to some children's charity.

Gramyx7 10-18-2010 09:21 PM

I agree it would make a great baby blankie... put another row on and a couple small borders back it with flannel.. I would love to have that.. :)

anniec55 10-18-2010 09:21 PM

plainpat 10-19-2010 12:40 AM

Thanks for the suggestions. We do have a new baby coming the family, a boy & colors are too pink for a boy.Guess I'll put a couple borders on it & call it done.

Flugiepoo 10-19-2010 12:52 PM

Go ahead and put a border on it and call it a baby quilt -- they love all the colors...I love this pattern -- mine is yet to come....

pollyann 10-19-2010 06:55 PM

I know no one likes to rip but I would alternate the blocks with solid white ones and then it would really pop - not as busy.

sumcoop 10-20-2010 04:57 AM

My house would love it....let me know if you need my address.
Great job...gift to someone who needs a lift...perfect for summer or spring...

IBQLTN 10-20-2010 05:02 AM

Slap a border on it and give it away as a gift. One less thing on your shopping list and the other person will be delighted with it!

Renae McClain-White 10-20-2010 08:04 AM

jbj137 10-20-2010 08:19 AM

Do some quilting you've always wanted to try but didn't want to ruin anything, finish the quilt and give it to an animal shelter for the homeless pets.
