Very pretty.
I used a different illusion quilt pattern, it uses just two fabrics. I worked very well for me since I buy large pieces of fabrics. Usually 4 - 6 yds, of each. My scrappy quilts have come from leftover pieces of other quilts. I seldom buy small amounts. |

I was also thinking of using charms-not cut in half, and with the same size strips. May try enough for a tablerunnr just to see if that works.

Thanks everyone, I'm gonna finnish this one as started as I have it all cut out. I just thought the red would pop the 30's prints.

I think the red is too much, and does not give the "shadow illusion." It is just too bold. Since you like red so much, why not incorporate it it the main rectangle and go back to having a darker grey strip for the shadow. I promise you, your quilt will pop. The red strips are too distracting, and there is no illusion.
