Always wanted a crazy quilt with all the embroidery on it. Making one with my mom. I piece and quilt, she loves to embroidery. Here is first section. What do you think? Is it too much?

That is wonderful. It is neat you are doing it with your Mom. The ones I have seen always have lots of embellishment with embrodery. Keep going, it will be a beautiful quilt.

No, it isn't too much, you can never have enough decoration on a crazy quilt. BTW, it looks great!
