You all have some beautiful work going on!!! I am helping a friend of my daughter make a quilt that she will give with her baby, (due thurs) to his new adoptive parents. Today we sewed on the binding and worked on using my embroidery unit to make a label. Was having some issues with the Em, so only got the printing done, havn't turned it into a full block label yet. If she hasn't gone into labor she will come back tomorrow evening and we will finish up the label. I have her working on hand sewing the back of the binding. While I type I have a label in the works for a quilt I made for my Sister in law last winter. I finished in Jan, it has only been waiting for the label. Em unit seems to be doing a little better now than a couple of hours ago.

Jim's Gem-What a sweet thing you are doing for your daughter's friend. She is so brave to give her baby up for adoption and it is nice that he will have a quilt his birth mother made for him.

I am including a pic of the design....As soon as I get the rest of the stars done I will add a pic of the real thing. Of course the fabrics are a little different, but you get the idea |

I have a double wedding ring on the quilt frame, a baby quilt for my friend that just needs putting together and quilted, a bear claw for my son being pieced, a top for my granddaughter to sandwitch and quilt, a commenorative wedding wall hanging for my oldest daughter and a butterfly medalion for my youngest daughter, all in various stages of completion. Sure hope I get these all done in the next year or so.

I am working on American Sweetheart from McCalls Quilting, Rhapsody in Scraps from Quilt magazine, and getting ready to start the applique leaf quilt from the newest Quilt magazine. Hopefully attaching these pdf files will work.
The Rhapsody in Scraps has the worst / skimpiest directions I have ever seen in a magazine, but I persevere! Also, I am making it scrappier than theirs, so I will add sashing and cornerstones to unify it. There are a lot more project ideas waiting in the wings, pushing and shoving to be next! |
I'm putting the binding on a scrappy quilt for my neice's Christmas gift. Then it's on to a baby quilt with sailboats...quilted Christmas ornaments...a few quilt cups......on & on!

Thanks, Marcia! I have to hurry and get these done, and sideline my other plans soon because I have to start making some maternity clothes and nursery items for my daughter and her first child!!! Agghhh! I am too young to be Grandma! But I am excited!

Well I am still working on my attic window quilt,It just will not get unpinned off the bed and sew itself. Tomorrow I get started on it.

I had a big stack of 8.5 inch squares cut for who knows what. So, I've been sewing them together in a "big block" quilt for the couch. 9 rows by 9 columns with a small border. The center went together in about 3 hours. Now, I'm digging through my neutral/tans scraps to see what I can find for the border and all my odds n' ends pieces for the backing.

This is the second day of 10th grade for my granddaughter who lives with us. I am working on having a few minutes for myself!! Then after school we are finishing her quilt which is one of the quilt as you go using the Betty Cotton method. Well, at least we are adapting the general idea. Everyone's quilts are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Everyones projects are wonderful, you are all so talented.
I have a small wall hanging that I have to finish putting the washers on the centre's of the blocks & add the remaining beads to the points then finish binding it. A disappearing nine patch lap quilt (this started out as a cushion cover LOL) which still requires another border to be added to it & then back it. This was my first attempt at patchwork. Tisha |
Oops attached wrong pics
Wish these were mine though!!! LOL |
I've tried to post pics of my WIP - my laptop doesn't want to play. Will try again tomorrow. :D

I am finally sewing after months of being unable to. I have a new sewing corner and am currently working on quilting a wedding gift that I had put together and even spraybasted in March. I am about to stitch their names around the inside of the outer border. I have the house to myself this weekend and I plan on getting lots of quilting time in!!!!!

This reminds me of some wall hangings I have been seeing at the Houston International Quilt Festivle. A group there always has wall hangins, etc with hens roosters, dogs, cats, etc. They are BEAUTIFUL!!!!! One that comes to mind is that which has roosters and hens in the garden. The fabrics used for the feathers were perfect, and it was for sale from their booth. I was VERY VERY tempted to buy the pattern, but at $50.00 I had to consider that this might be one of those that just got added to my collection, and if I bought just the pattern where would I find the right fabrics later???? I have looked for these folks on the internet, but have not found them. The Quilt Show will be in November, I may not feel so bad about spending the $50.00 this time. I think it would be great to make either a table runner or a table cloth with chickens, but know that it would probably take a very long time.

Quilter1962--I love your wallhanging. I have never put beads on a quilt, but am always intriqued with them at shows. Please post another pic when you are finished with it...

I am working on a comfort quilt for my aunt Sherry who has MS and hasn't been doing very well lately. Its theme is cows. It has been called the "Dumpster Dive Quilt" by some. I'll post pics when I get the top pieced.
