The classic definition of a charm quilt, is that there is only one piece of each fabric. No duplicates. So a true charm quilt is a collection that takes lots of time.

When you buy a set of charms, you will notice that there is only one piece of each design. These sets usually don't have enough ingredients to make a quilt, so you have to buy yardage to complete many projects. A tote bag or table topper can easily be a "charm"

Jan,

I didn't know that. I'll be sure not to call my quilt a "charm quilt", but it will be a quilt made from charms. And, I really enjoy seeing everyone's pics of their creations too!

If Moda and RJR sell them as charm packs, then my quilts are made with charms. I did have to add some of my own fabrics to the 'How Charming'. The rjr charms were rather dark and I'm a fan of bright.

Here is the quilt I am currently working on completing, made from charms.

Most of the pieces are from Thimbleberries Village Green line

Very nice! It's amazing what a difference adding the sashing makes. I could do that with my charms and I think it would look just as awesome. Thanks for sharing!

The little twister is just perfect for charms.

It would be very interesting to see yours with sashing. What color would you use? A bright white would really make them pop.

Woops - just realized that the one in your photo is already finished, will you use similar colors for the next one? I just love those bright oranges and pinks and picture them with a very crisp white.
