In another group I belong to a member gave us a FQ and the challenge was to make anything we wanted with it. The navy with stars was the FQ she gave.

nellebelles 03-09-2011 12:50 AM

Very nice! I especially like that little pin cushion--does it sit on top of a spool of thread--or is the spool a permanent part of it?

AKDaffyodil 03-09-2011 01:07 AM

Very creative! I love the tablerunner...and all the rest!! :D

How did you layout your original blocks # of across and down ?? This would be perfect for my DR table and buffet. I like that they are scattered and the 2 colors really show off the twister.

watterstide 03-09-2011 05:16 AM

Your are the Girl! Great Job!!!!!

I've made a couple - they were 7x3 (with 3" border)

quilt queen 2 - love the blue/white combo. You're very clever with your scraps esp. the pin cushion. I'm making a Lil Twister baby quilt now & don't think there'll be enough scraps for border - I see some potholders in the making!

jdiane318 03-09-2011 05:58 AM

I love the twister, makes anything look good. Your table runner is super nice.

Rumbols 03-09-2011 06:08 AM

Great job. Thanks for showing the 'swiss cheese' fabric so we can see the original layout. I just ordered my ruler last Friday. Love the left over projects, especially that sweet little pin cushion.

My original layout was with 5 inch squares And 3 rows of 7, Row 1&3 start with dark blue and Row2 starts with yellow I added a 3 inch yellow border then cut and marked top Rt A1 A2 A3 etc. Did this with all rows as I cut and then chain sewed them together, then added a 1/2 inch strip to the raw edges in navy thead and added a 2 1/2 inch border in the yellow It is SID and squared to 15 1/2 x28 inches then icut 2 1/2 in strips fot a doublefold binding The template was one I made myself.I would do this first before doing a large quilt just to get the idea I squared my scrapto 2 1/4 " squares for the potholders the logcabin is a 4 1/2 " square and the flower pincushion is on a golf tee that sits in a spool of thread . just google flower pinushion on a golf tee for the felt on bottom of flower i colored white flt with a matching marker. All simple to do projects!

daisey 03-09-2011 05:34 PM
