This quilt top was made for a dear friend who just lost her mother. The pieces were made from some of her mothers house dresses. Wow, was that ever a job making it all work out. I used one of my favorite simple patterns "Warm Wishes" I hope she likes it. Now it's off to the quilter to make it come alive......

Your quilt will be such a precious memory for your friend. You did a good job.

Nice work!
In the pattern I have the middle strip is cut bigger than the other two. Your strips look as if they are all the same. Do you mind sharing the size of your strips and the size of your square?
Thanks in advance,
lots2do

What a beautiful idea-pattern-thought.

mom-6 04-19-2010 04:08 AM

Quick question...this looks like alternating patterned fabric squares and rail fence squares turned different directions each time to frame the patterned squares...am I correct?

Pam 04-19-2010 05:18 AM

How pretty. I especially like the striped fabric, it "sparkles".

Very pretty, colors are very pretty.

gotthebug 04-20-2010 05:00 AM

Lots, You are correct, the strips are all equal width. I like it better that way for some reason. The strips I used were 2" just because that was easy. I then adjusted the square to measure 5". This is the second one I have done with these same size pieces. It seems to work for me.

cindygale 04-20-2010 06:13 AM
