What a gorgeous quilt! It looks perfect. I can't tell that you had to do any adjusting at all.
Your mother was quite talented to create those blocks. I look forward to seeing her hand quilting on the finished quilt. |
That is absolutely beautiful!

I just love house blocks and those are very special!

such talented ladies. It was so heartwarming to read your story about the quilt top. You will have such lovely memories everytime you look at the finishd quilt. It is such a joy to see that mother and daughter can still do things together. Keep it up. The rewards will be great. You are truly blessed. ciao

That's really lovely, and so wonderful that your mother will be able to quilt it. YOu are a thoughtful daughter. :)

Beautiful quilt. It's something you'll have that you and your mom worked on to get it finished.

I love your quilt.. I want to make one someday with houses.. not quite there yet. beautiful quilt!

Oh what a beautiful quilt and such a wonderful way to spend time with your mom. My mom and I worked on some of her UFO's last year and we entered one of them in the fair and she won a 1st prize blue ribbon for it. She was thrilled and I was so proud. It was the first item she has entered a quilt in the fair and she was completely shocked to have hers chosen over so many others. She sees her work with a different eye now. Linda

That is beautiful. I am impressed. Great job.

What a great idea to put blocks inside the houses! I love floral fabrics, so this is especially beautiful to me. It's wonderful of you to keep your mom involved in quilting also. This quilt will have so much sentimental value when it's done.

Even more wonderful is that you an you Mother can still share quality time together. My Mom and I used to craft together. She had Parkinson's disease with dimentia. I really miss her now. Enjoy these gifts of time. Blessings, Spring |

What a gift you have given your mother working with her on this lovely quilt. My mother died of complications of Alzheimer Disease nearly five years ago. Mom was part of the Stanford Hospital/Veterans Hospital Research Project. She went in regularly to be assessed and we were told that her spatial memory was better than any other things tested. Mom was a quilter and used those shapes and stitching and as a result held on to that knowledge long past expectation. If you know who Ami Simms is then you also probably know about the Alzheimer Quilt Iniative. Ami, an internationally known quilter started this quilt auction site to help support Alzheimer research after her mother was diagnosed.. The quilts are donated and must be 9 x 12 inches or smaller. I invite you to visit <http://www.alzquilts.org/quiltauction.html>
Ami Simms is a hoot and you will enjoy her website, I am sure. |
Beautiful quilt!
|
Awesome! I love how each block has something different on it!
|
What a lovely quilt you and your Mom have put together. My suggestion is that you get some pictures of Mom while she is quilting (maybe even when she doesn't notice you, if possible!) Then take a couple of pics of the two of you with the finished quilt. What a lovely heirloom the quilt will then become, complete with photos of the two great ladies who completed it!
Blessings to both of you! :D Sue |
They are beautiful! I love how each house is made of a traditional block.
|
Beautiful story; beautiful quilt. Deserves a blue ribbon; hope you enter it in a show some day with the story attached. Warms the heart!

Reading about how you have worked out a way to keep your mother involved puts me in mind of Ami Simms. Do you know her? Her mother had Alzh. and Ami blogged extensively about her until her death recently. If you go to amisimms.com or AAQI.com you can read about her work raising awareness for Alzh and raising money to donate to studies of the awful disease. |

Very nice. I don't think I've seen that pattern before. How nice of you to do this for your Mom. It will occupy lots of time for her and make her feel less disconnected .
|
LOVE it! Does the kitty like it???? ;)
|
I am not too wild on house blocks but really like the looks of the ones your mom did. I think it's really neat that you can work with your mom on them.
|
What a brilliant way to display individual quilt blocks you might want to do, as the sides of the houses.
Keep stitching. |
Beautiful.
|
Incredible opportunity to work with your mom. And I LOVE the blocks on the sides of the houses. This is really beautiful.
|
