oh ya fuss cut and applique them, great idea, I love needle turn applique, that would be beautiful on an off white or light pink or pick up colors in the flower.

quiltaroni 07-25-2011 03:21 PM

Snowballs?

quiltaroni 07-25-2011 03:27 PM

Snowballs?

I would make 12 1/2 in variable star blocks with the flowers for the middle. I would use a matching green and matching lavender for sashing to separate blocks and a border. It is such a pretty fabric. Enen some pink would go.

buckeyed 07-25-2011 03:38 PM

Love the fabric. I am sure whatever you do will look great. It would be hard for me to destroy those bouquets by cutting them up. I would use them as a center in another block.

quilter1943 07-25-2011 03:42 PM

Maybe do the 4 block trellis - it would really show off the flowers.

AlienQuilter 07-25-2011 04:02 PM

That fabric is so gorgeous I couldn't cut up those flowers! They just scream for fussy cut blocks.

macygma 07-25-2011 07:48 PM

WOW! Where did you get that I want some!

Rn8or 07-25-2011 07:59 PM

How about dnp? Fussy cuts could stay whole.

I looked at the Lavender Lime site but cannot find the pattern that you mentioned. Can you do a link to the pattern or give me the pattern name?

Thanks.

Enlarge the image on that page. I think that is the pattern. It's called Sweet and Simple.

Even though I've never done one, wouldn't a One Block Wonder or a Whack & Stack be perfect? Such pretty fabric!

VernaL 07-25-2011 10:33 PM

You might check the selvedge on the fabric and see who the manufacturer is. Then go to their website. They usually have patterns using their fabrics and you might find one for this.

madamekelly 07-25-2011 11:17 PM

I think that is the very prettiest fabric I have ever seen. You could just send it to me. I promise to 'pet' it everyday. I could never cut it... never mind, I have enough to pet now. I can't wait to see what you do with it. Do you know the maker? I would love to hunt for some of it.

Miss Ruthie 07-26-2011 02:00 AM

I think this is the pattern to use also!!!!!

I thought of leaving it whole, maybe cut in a square and adding different matching sashing strips to the edges and make it the size you want.

Looking forward to your ideas for this.

stack a whack or 4 patch posie

laalaaquilter 07-26-2011 03:44 AM

I like the Ohio Star idea and I like using the little nosegays that way too, not just the big bouquets.

Ohhhhhhhh, yeah, definitely sweet and it looks simple enough.

Thanks.

This one looks nice. I googled the name in images and the pattern can have different layouts. It's something to add to my list.

Thanks.

No, haven't made a decision yet. The only thing I have decided is to use the flowers in a fussy cut pattern and I am in the process of cutting them. I have company many days and I have been visiting a relative at the hospital on other days so it is slow going.

I have also looked at the Squares within Squares pattern from Quilter's Cache which looks similar to the Sweet and Simple pattern.

I know what you mean about being drawn to the same colors. In this case it's a coincidence that the colors are the same as my avatar colors. I have used purple/violet/pink as quilt colors exactly twice and both quilts were gifts. The recipients both love purple. I have a lot of blues in my stash but consider red my favorite color yet I don't use it often in a quilt and have very little in my stash, although I do want to try a red/white/black pattern someday.

I have had this fabric for a LONG time and now I'm trying to use up the stash. Not sure I have any coordinating colors for it and may need a trip to the LQS.

Thanks for your interest.

No idea where I bought it. The selvedge says:
Victoria's Scatter Garden, Debbie Beaves of the Violet Patch, for RJR Fabrics, 2004.

Here are a few links to Debbie Beaves website and The Violet Patch website and RJR Fabrics.

The first link is to Debbie Beaves patterns.

Beautiful fabric. I have some cat fabric with the motifs about the size of yours. Like the Ohio Star idea
