Okay I bought this great pirate fabric thinking I could easily find cheaper-than-quilt-store coordinating fabrics to make a cool lap quilt for a young boy. It was harder than I thought. Then there was the problem of how much to get since I didn't know what pattern I would use. Got any good ideas?

Great fabric! I love the stripes and the woodgrain. I don't have a clue about a pattern though. Maybe one of the more experienced ladies.

It's such a cute print - I would have a hard time cutting it up.
Love the colors you bought to go with it. |
I love the pirate fabric! I can't wait to see your finished quilt!

The snowball block is good for showcasing fabric. Or the pattern I Spy with a twist might work too. Good luck, it should work up nicely whatever you decide.

I love the stripe, I'd be using that on the front! lol

This would be a great pattern to showcase the pirate fabric. |
If you have 4 metres apparently this makes the most beautiful One Block Wonder, so I was told by a lady who works at our local fabric store & did one
