What a quilter can do with a man's hankie-a remembrance
3 Attachment(s)
My friend lost her husband last August and I knew she was going to be alone on Christmas. I e-mailed her Christmas eve and told her to send me one of Bill's hankies. She sent two just in case I messed up the centering on the first. So I did one with a quilt stencil and the other with a painted rose, smaller than the version I had painted during Country Christmas. Last night I did another chicken on one of my Mom's kitchen towels. This one is for me. I have to take a couple days to bind all these things I've been doing.
It is a way to keep the remembrance out in the open and have a wonderful thing for others to see. |

Very, very nice way to remember and to use their personal possession in doing so. Just lovely. That chicken is pretty cute!

Deb, those are amazing! I love the hanky! Isn't it fun to work with the stencils now that we took Cindy's class?? I just did 3 squares to paint. I used 3 different ones to test how I liked using them on a quilt. So far I haven't hit on one that really works for me, but am still trying!
