I am working on a Christmas Lap Quilts using Holly Jolly Fabric by Sandy Gervis and using charm packs and Fat Q's. The pattern I chose is called Charm Saturday.
Using this fabric line (only sample I could find)
http://www.thequiltstore.ca/products...tire.html#http://www.fatquarterfactory.com/uploads/Charm_6_Saturday_Quilt.pdf

BOM called Southern Stars by Pacific Patchwork. It is a sampler $5 quilt. It has cost me more than $5 since I missed making a few blocks. It is going to be 60 X 72 3/4.
http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/Item--i-PPW-282(pattern) I am getting reproduction fabric from the shop to complete the blocks.

Cutting blocks for my Gone to Texas Quilt using reproductions and Civil War fabrics.

Making Charity quilts also working on 2 Habitat for Humanity bed size tops for my Guild.

In between working on UFO's when I get bored with my new projects. I cannot just work on one thing at a time. That is to practical for me. (lol)

How about u what are you workin on?
Show us pics of what is going on in your sewing world

I'm working on a mariner's compass for my FIL's mother. It's birthday gift for her 90th birthday, plus she just got moved from her house into a home becaue she's starting to lose it, so she has barely any of her belongings in her new room, and her old bedding doesn't fit.
The top is mostly done, I JUST finished embroidering the lettering for the center of the compass, next I have to applique my embroidered center on, sandwich and quilt the bugger. I have to have it finished by the end of next week, which is when my in-laws are going to visit this woman in New Brunswick.

This was taken on a double bed so it looks funny.

The stitching on this was all done by hand, probably about 5 hours worth of stitching.... glad I'm done now!

I'm in awe! Those are all great.

But here's the sad news...I'm not working on anything right now! I don't know what to do next! My stash is sitting there askign to be used, and I haven't the slightest idea what to make or who to give it to!

Plus I am out of batting, so I couldn't finish anything if I wanted to...lol

I have three pants. a jacket and seven shirts for sarah's winter wardrobe. I bought the patterns and fabric for. (my 4 year old niece)

Well, I'm working on these appliqué blocks that I bought at a silent auction for $5. I just finished the top this weekend. I need to piece a back for it and then quilt it. I'm going to use a variegated thread with all those beautiful colors in it and mimic the appliqué in the plain block. I already made the stencil for it.

grammatjr 10-13-2009 08:51 AM

Thanks for starting this post, it is so interesting to read!

1- make a Christmas and birthday "quilt" for my Mother's old lady quilt.
I posted pics of the quilt here, the lady on the quilt holds seasonal small quilts: http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/26776.page

2- making my One Couch Quilt quilt for a staff quilt show, and local guild show both in the spring 2 weeks apart. I describe it here:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/15/22092.page

3- making a Challenge quilt for the guild show, have an idea, but the rules say a 11X8.5" landscape - and my thought I want to do has been designed in my head as a yard square or so wall quilt....hmmm....

4- making a quilt for my nephew who will be going to Bible College next year: http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/26923.page

5- 6- 7-....... I know I will think of another million things before I get these done! And I will probably end of doing a few Christmas things, but haven't even started to think about that yet! UUGGHHH!!!!!!! :?

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 10-13-2009 09:36 AM

I just finished my Christmas practice quilt which is my first real quilt ever. I'm still embroidering daisy blocks, but slowly because right now sewing is more fun. As soon as I finished my Christmas quilt, I started making me some Sunbonnet Sue pot holders. I have the fabric bought for a no-sew fleece blanket for son #2 for Christmas............and yet I'm still on here admiring all the pretties instead of working!

Ninnie 10-13-2009 10:21 AM

I'm working on the Navy and White, almost have the center finished.
http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/210/25353.page

also working on cutting out a baby quilt that needs to be finished by the end of October.
Also have ;a top waiting to be hand quilted.
and about 4 UFOs that need to be finished by the end of the year. :D

Also planning a new top, but just in thre planning stages right now.

I'm so sorry for your poor little fingers, but the quilt is beautiful and the extra effort of doing the embroidery by hand is very special.

Yea, I was happy when I got my new sewing machine that does lettering, but I don't like the lettering it does :( It's better to take the time to do it by hand and be satisfied with the final product.

Okay, okay . . . I got the borders on the Bride's Tree wall hanging done today (took 2 trips for fabric, cut one strip too short  ), and the machine quilting is about 1/3 done. It's for a wedding gift for DD who doesn't have a date set yet, and it will be at least a year away . . . I am scheduled to sandwich "Unchained Melody" at church on Friday (it's for me so no deadline rush) . . . and "Star Bright" was just a fun thing I wanted to try, so no recipient or deadline for that one either. And for the record, I'm also working on some cross-stitch Advent ornaments for DGD as well as a bed shawl to coordinate with our new bed quilt.

It's called CADD (crafter's ADD), and looks like I'm not the only one enjoying it! :?

So since looking through this thread and realizing that I have nothing going on, I decided to try my first scrappy quilt. I busted out my bag of scraps, went to www.quiltville.com and dove in!

So far I've got all the peices cut, and two blocks sewn...here's a sample...

I have a picture in my head of what the quilt will look like done...but unfortunately I cannot download my picture from my brain so you're all stuck with this...lol

pookie ookie 10-13-2009 08:55 PM

2 sampler class quilts. I have no idea how big they'll be.
1 blue star throw. Praying it doesn't rain as I need to hang it on the clothesline for sandwiching.
1 large makedo quilt for the bf.
2 dolls, 1 Santa, 1 treetop angel, 1 memorial angel, 1 stuffed wolf.

I feel like I'm forgetting something (or somethings).

dizzy 10-13-2009 08:57 PM

I am working on my christmas sewing projects:

1. I have 4 small grandchildren and 6 small great neices & nephews to make "I Spy" quilts for (5 completely done right now, 2 quilt tops done, too).
2. I have 2 patchwork lap quilt tops done ready for borders & backing.

3. I have squares cut for 5 more patchwork lap quilts.

4. I have all the pieces cut for my quilted drapes for my living room slider & dining room window, it is a sampler consisting of the following blocks: variable star, card trick, rocky mountain puzzle, windblown square, diamond star, album, peace & plenty and prairie queen. I have 1/4 of the squares done).

5. Finishing my new sewing room so I will be more productive.

That's it for now, hopefully I will get these done by Thanksgiving so I can move on to a new project.

Sorry..... DH and I only :) :)

This was supposed to be for our 25th wedding annevesary, which was 4 1/2 years ago. We have planned this trip for 7 years now. I'm pretty excited about leaving next tuesday!!!

I am having some shoulder issues which will prevent us from doing some of the things we wanted to do, like ride bikes down the volcano and other things (hense surgery in November)

k3n - Thanks so much for the compliment on the autumn... after I got all those border pieces sewed on I realized I sewed my N in autumn on upside down..... still bothers me.. but I wasn't pulling all of it apart. I hate when that happens !
The brown will look great as a purse .. when I can find the pattern :? Maybe quilt gnomes come in and move things or steal them.. I can't be that disorganized :D
