janRN 12-08-2009 03:09 PM

I love those and especially like the fabric you used. Did you use a pattern? I really need one--every time I go to sew I have to blow the dust off. Very nice!!

beachlady 12-08-2009 03:39 PM

Very nice covers.

yourstrulyquilts 12-08-2009 04:27 PM

There isn't anything on it, but there will be, and soon! This is a really great idea....Thanks!!

sandpat 12-08-2009 04:30 PM

Whats on my machine???? Why cat hair, of course!! LOL!!! Your covers are just darling!

jacee kay 12-08-2009 05:02 PM

these are really nice. I have been wanting to make me one for my machine. Is there a pattern available somewhere for these?

shaverg 12-08-2009 06:04 PM

Love them, do you have a pattern.

tlrnhi 12-08-2009 06:05 PM

Those are cute!

I'm with Patti....cat hair is on mine!

RedGarnet222 12-08-2009 06:17 PM

Gosh .. my sewing machine and serger covers are so old on mine.

I love your fabrics that you chose for your presents. Very pretty.

ButtercreamCakeArtist 12-08-2009 06:23 PM

Well, for now I use some small curtains that we don't use on the windows to throw over all of mine. The curtains are too short for our windows, but they make a useful dust cover. They are bright pink and very ruffley. My aunt gave them to us.
I like your covers much better! I really, really like the second one, but both are great!
It's been on my to do list for a while now (to make a real cover). I almost bought a pattern with a pic of an old machine to applique on the front.

sewnsewer2 12-08-2009 06:33 PM

Those are pretty! I use a pillowcase to cover mine.

Esqmommy 12-08-2009 06:35 PM

those are fabulous machine covers. Great choice of fabric too!!

Chele 12-08-2009 07:08 PM

Your covers are awesome! I drape a tea towel over my machine when I remember.

quilter girl 12-08-2009 07:09 PM

OUTSTANDING! Those will be some lucky machines to get such a great cover. Please share your pattern - love you choice of fabric.

sharon b 12-08-2009 07:28 PM

uuuhhhh lots of dust  Yes did you design yourself or have a pattern ?

Hunnib 12-08-2009 07:54 PM

You did a beautiful job! I have the fabric all put aside to make a cover for mine...leftover from when I made my valance. Hopefully I can get cracking on it soon!

DJ 12-08-2009 08:32 PM

Thank you all! I didn't anticipate so many wanting a pattern. I didn't use a pattern except to measure and copy the cheap plastic covers the machines came with. I did do a lot of googling for instrucions and ended up borrowing a friend's pattern (McCall's Home Decorating #2723 "Sewing Room Essentials" ) but never opened it. I quilted the fabric, so it has nice body.

BTW . . . my own sewing machine and serger are naked!

amma 12-09-2009 01:21 AM

Those are beautiful!!! They are going to love them :D:D:D

My poor machines are naked

Mountainquilter 12-09-2009 01:42 AM

Dust. Who has dust???? where does it come from?

My machine didn't come with a cover and is naked too. Poor thing.

sawsan 12-09-2009 01:52 AM

auntiehenno 12-09-2009 02:24 AM

Like these very much. Two of my machines are packed in a box from my move from Western - pretty part - of SD to Denver. Found them today and trying to get organized.

ranger 12-09-2009 02:59 AM

The center was embroidered on my machine.

Wine Woman 12-09-2009 07:42 AM

Very cute-better than being naked! You are going to make your machine one-right?

This sewing machine cover is what I made for my mom. Its the same cover but she lives in Arizona in the winter and Washington in the summer. She turns it depending on where she is.

yourstrulyquilts 12-09-2009 09:13 AM

WOW!!

YTQ

jljack 12-09-2009 10:46 AM

Which pattern are you looking for LINANN?

LINANN 12-10-2009 07:20 AM

I am sorry....A pattern for the sewing machine cover.
Thanks

IBQUILTIN 12-10-2009 07:53 AM

Those covers are soooooooooooo neat. Now all I have to do is find time for my machine to be quiet long enough to need one

granny216 12-10-2009 08:01 AM

Real nice but who has time to cover the sewing machine. The ones not in use are in cases and one is constanly being used. I like the ides of the cover but SIL wouldn't always be saying, "I thought that was the dining room table!" Gives him something to think about.

wvdek 12-10-2009 08:40 AM

Beautiful covers. Love the reversible. Your applique is beautiful.
Mine still has the nice plastic it came with alond with a few cat hairs, although I do try to keep those off/out of it. Hence the cover every time I turn the machine off.
