Whew - Hunter's Star Finally Done!
1 Attachment(s)
Finally finished my Hunter's Star.! Started it a little over a year ago and had many other projects interrupt this one along the way. Haha - notice the break in the dark green binding at the bottom of the pic. I was about 16 inches shy of having enough dk green to go all the way around. I had purchased all that the shop had at the time and since then, the shop has closed. I decided to put the zigzag border on after the middle was complete (wanted something to set it off), so that set me back a bit on the green for the binding. Oh well, I used the tan to finish it off and I think it gives it a bit of character!! Enjoy....

Very pretty - you did a great job!
|
Great quilt and nice job on the border! You could always embroider your name and date completed on the beige section of binding.

It's gorgeous! Did you use the Deb Tucker ruler set or Jenny Doan's squares and hsts?
|
Nicely done. I like the colors very much.
|
I have one all cut out..just have to start sewing! Your quilt is lovely!
|
Very pretty. One that's on my bucket list. The tan binding would be a good place to label the quilt, depending on space, maybe the pattern name, date, and your name.
|
Very nicely done! love your border!

good job. the border is a nice addition-- it really sets off the star blocks and gives the quilt a finished look.

Thank you all for your comments! I used the Hunter's Star block pattern in the 10 inch size that I found on The Jinny Beyer Studio website (free). It can be found in the Quilter's Design Board option (along with 227 other block patterns). It uses templates which I printed and taped to cardboard and then cut out. It's a very straightforward block to assemble although a bit tedious to cut the pieces! I made 36 blocks for my quilt. This block is offered in 3 sizes - 6, 10, and 12 inch. It was fun to make and absolutely amazing to see the additional stars being formed as I began sewing the blocks to each other.
