Why I Quilt

This picture if of my great-nephew who is eight months old and, IMHO, the cutest little guy in the entire state. The quilt was truly a work of love and while I tried many new techniques, some worked and some didn't; I was quite pleased with how it ultimately turned out. His dad told me he studied it for awhile, then took it and rubbed it again his cheek and then cuddled with it. So if anyone asks me why I have chosen quilting, all they have to do its look at this picture.

Yup, the picture is worth a thousand words, and the intelligence in his eyes says more. The fact that he studied it and responded to it shows it is a hit with him. Congratulations. No blue ribbon or prize could compare to his reaction.

That's exactly why I quilt...I love love love to do things for others and giving them a quilt is like giving them my love to touch every day!! I have kept only 3 quilts I have made in 15 years of quilting!!
