I started this a couple of years ago as a wedding gift, then the wedding was postponed and I put if off due to an injury. Now I have the quilting done. There is no place in my tiny house where I can get back far enough to get a picture of the whole thing.

Oh my!!! That's gorgeous! I've been wanting to make a maple leaf quilt for my father. He used to live in northern Michigan, and for several years he produced and sold his own maple syrup. It was so-o-o-o-o-o yummy!!!!! :D Your quilt is very beautiful! Thanks for sharing your pics with us!!

Outstanding color choices. |
I have forgotten who, but someone wrote a book on Shadow Quilts. The idea is to use larger and smaller versions of the same block. On some of hers, the larger ones were less intense, thus, shadows. Some of hers had several different sizes of blocks.
This is my own variation on the theme. My grand niece wanted a quilt in fall colors. I gathered a lot of fabrics and used about 1/3 of them. I know I'll emjoy the rest as well. BTW, I finished the quilt today, except for de-linting. One thing I know is that she appreciates a quilt. I have made her 2 previously which she enthused over. |
Beautiful!
