Here is my new addiction - NY Beauties. I chose a lot of color for these not knowing how they would turn out as these are my first attempts. Now I'm working on incorporating these colors into new Beauties so the quilt will look more uniform.

This is my first placement of the blocks, and will most likely change in direction and placement quite a few times before I sew it together. I'm just experimenting now with the different patterns. Thanks for looking. :D

WOW, love it. I really like the last layout working around the center blocks. Colors are GREAT.

I've seen "Layout 2" in person -- it's fireworks in the sky over the NY skyline. That brilliant sky is the view from my apartment. Your blocks are wonderful and so are the colors you've chosen. Were these paper pieced? One of my favorite blocks and this is about as beautiful as I've seen.

My Gosh, thank you! It's is a wonderful name for this layout. How spectacular the skyline must be where you are! Yes I paper pieced them. I'll have a few more to add later. Must go to dinner at my brother's house.

My favorite block and your's add to my belief that these are the most lively of blocks. I am currently making one a month...actually two....I keep one for myself and send one to a friend....she is doing the same. We plan to do this for 15 months and we will each wind up with 30 blocks. Then we will each set them in our own design. It is a fun way to keep in touch. We are doing the Karen Stone patterns.

I added 12 more blocks - can you tell which one's they are, lol? Here is the temporary layout. I'm sure as I add more, I'll arrange them a different way, but this is the way they went on the floor.

Thank you! It's funny how seeing pics on the computer brings out my mistakes! :oops: In the middle of the last pic, the pink block needs to go, I placed the pink where the dark color should be and it doesn't "flow" in the circle. Must be redone.
