I'm sure it will be absolutely gorgeous when you're done, but I'm glad it's you doing it and not me. LOL

Donna P 01-31-2011 07:38 AM

That is going to be beautiful...I still cannot find them patterns here in town. I seen an Amish one that cought my eye but cannot find it.

KLO 01-31-2011 08:40 AM

I love doing this kind of work also ... although this one is really intricate. I like the lighter background but maybe just a bit darker ... more sky like perhaps? The second one with the colorful sky is nice but a bit too dark. Whatever you choose, it's going to be awesome!!!!! Thanks for sharing.

jgriinke 01-31-2011 10:28 AM

What is your background going to be? If you don't care for the light spots, you can always use either Paintstik or inks to color them.
Those are wonderful.

amma 01-31-2011 10:38 AM

Gorgeous!! I love the highlights appearing in the batiks... I can't wait to see what you choose for the backing :D:D:D

tadpoles_62 01-31-2011 12:46 PM

OMG you are talented . it is going to be lovely

Tweety2911 01-31-2011 02:50 PM

The batik gives it a whole different look. Gorgeous!

MISHNJIM 01-31-2011 03:17 PM

Love it....I like the lighter background.

susie0808 01-31-2011 03:43 PM

Thanks for sharing. We all can't wait to see it finished! Great job!

Nettie Phillips 01-31-2011 04:46 PM

That is nice but too much work for me.

jitkaau 01-31-2011 05:23 PM

I prefer the tones that you have in this one, to the black silhouette look,as it gives it more dimension. Well done with this style of work.

quiltedlamb07 01-31-2011 05:57 PM

wow, that is so awesome

IDquilter 01-31-2011 06:21 PM

You do such nice work that I am sure this is going to be just as gorgeous as all the others.

janiesews 01-31-2011 07:09 PM

Very pretty in the batik.

annette1952 01-31-2011 08:08 PM

Looking good as all of your work does. Can't wait to see it done!

Lucy90 01-31-2011 08:30 PM

You sure have patience. That is a lot of work and I don't think i could do it unless I had a coupe of years to finish

Jbarrow 01-31-2011 09:28 PM

These are just amazing!

brendadawg 02-01-2011 06:27 AM

Reminds me of the days when scherenschnitte (paper cutting) was popular. My thumbs got so tired from holding those little scissors. I'm afraid my arthritic bones would not allow that now.

Can't wait to see your finished product.

JAGSD 02-01-2011 06:30 AM

Will be at the Stock Show and Quilt show again today but wil return to this project Soon..

02ba quilter 02-01-2011 08:01 AM

I learn so much by reading what others are doing. I would have never thought the design would show up on that material, but the end result is llovely. I need to start thinking outside of the box.

neeng 02-01-2011 08:22 AM

Incredible! What a wonderful idea!

sewwhat85 02-01-2011 08:24 AM

that is so great

ljorange 02-01-2011 11:47 AM

Love it...one of my earliest memories is riding in the back seat of the car in Montana, watching the windmills go by, they always fascinated me.

grammysharon 02-01-2011 11:54 AM

You are very patient to do all that cutting but it is beautiful

BevF 02-01-2011 01:12 PM

Cool! That's one to keep up concentration! That will be awesome when it's done. Can't wait to see the finished quilt.

doowopddbop 02-01-2011 03:47 PM

Wow, honey! Love how this looks in batik!

kwiltkrazy 02-01-2011 06:22 PM

Boy, that is time intensive. Looks good.

Annz 02-01-2011 08:12 PM

Your work is interesting

Ditter43 02-01-2011 08:35 PM

I think the batik gives it a shadowed look! Very interesting! You have been doing a fantastic job on all these silhouettes!!

Thank you for posting the link - - so very helpful.
I am enjoying your work, as I have said before, but I have a question.
You are using double fusible webbing, which I have used for a variety of pieces, but I have always top-stitched the edges down. Noticing your windmill - - are you top-stitching also? Or are you trusting that the double fusible will hold? <wave>

I am planning on Stitching the windmill down also. I am not sure that it will be two lines of stitching or one. I think in some places it will only have room for one. I purchased some varigated thread today and also another possible background fabric. Will get pictures of them tomorrow and [post here if you would like to see the choices, need to make sure it matches. I am a little leary of just leaving it and not sewing it down.(too chicken I guess) I like to just throw things in the wash and that way I don't have to worry about it at all if I sew it down.
