Good Job!! I love that pattern :D:D:D

I'm so impressed with your courage. It's going to make a beautiful heirloom. Can you use a light fusible to place the pieces?
|
WOW that's gorgeous!! I love to machine applique. You colors are perfect :-D
|
I think it looks lovely, you are a fast learner.

Going to be very pretty. Keep us posted.

Very Striking! I like it!

As you have chosen to blend the background, it doesn't look like you will have the mosaic effect that the original one has. As you say, the design possibilities look endless, and you could perhaps switch between the two 'looks' within the one quilt. I like the interplay.

Thanks for all the great encouragement! The quilt pic is from the book "Tile Quilt Revival" by Carol Gilham Jones & Bobbi Finley. The other tile quilts in the book are so interesting! And this will be great for using up scraps! I just discovered the "back basting" method and it works well for this without all the messy paper & starch I started with. I'll get some thinner needles & thread on my next trip to the store. I like experimenting with this. I'll post another pic as I get more pieces done.

Yours is the first quilt I've seen with this method, and I really like it. Please keep posting pictures as you progress. I'm not an appliquer, but I love to see what others do.
