I am going stir crazy without my sewing room. (It is being rebuilt) So I pulled out my Featherweight and made this mini on the dining room table. My back is killing me, but I like it. What do you think?[img]

The colors are better in the other one

They are both so pretty. I love the colors is the first one. Did it help with the withdrawal symptoms? Hope so. Great job.

Way cute - you really were desperate to make something so tiny!!! Hang in there - it will certainly be better soon!!!

kwhite 04-06-2009 06:35 PM

Thank you. No magnifying glass. Paper Peicing and a good bit of ripping out. HAHA

Gorgeous! What fine piecework!

JoanneS 04-06-2009 10:01 PM

OMG! I am so impressed with both of them! I quit making minis after my 2nd! They really show how good/bad your technique is.

k3n 04-06-2009 11:31 PM

Exquisite work! Is that a real penny or a giant one?

I love that setting of the triangles, might copy at some stage!

key4unc 04-07-2009 03:23 AM

Those are gorgeous. And, boy, you weren't kidding when you said mini. Do you still us 1/4" seams on something that small?

Jerrie 04-07-2009 04:37 AM

That is so cute

Marcia 04-07-2009 04:44 AM

I think I LOVE it, that's what I think!! I would never have the patience to make something that tiny--paper pieced or not!!

Barbm 04-07-2009 04:53 AM

Are you into torture? Wow- I can't imagine myself being that EXACT!

awesome work!

Debbie1 04-07-2009 06:16 AM

That pattern is really cool! Hope your sewing room won't take too long to be rebuilt!

omak 04-07-2009 06:24 AM

Congratulations on your new sewing room!
That is a wonderful teeny, tiny, little quilt.
and, pretty too!

Courtepointe 04-07-2009 06:42 AM

I LOVE this little quilt! Where did you get the pattern? I haven't tried too much paper piecing yet, and this looks like the one I want to do!

kwhite 04-07-2009 09:41 AM

Thank you all. Yes it is a real coin. I saw a quilt like it on sale at a local quilt sale web site and I liked it so I got onto Power Point and created a paper piece pattern to match it. I dont really adhere to the 1/4 inch rule when doing paper piecing I just sew and trim. I don't seem to do rules very well. I guess I am just one of those "Oh YEAH!! Watch me!!!" people. LOL A rebel into tourture. ROFL

I will be happy to share the pattern with anyone who would like it.

Feathers 04-07-2009 09:58 AM

KWhite: Both mini quilts are darling. I think I like the tan background one best as the background really makes the HST or Flying Geese "POP" Really Lovely.

kwhite 04-07-2009 10:06 AM

Thanks Feathers. Actually there is only one mini quilt. The first picture I posted is simply in bad light and it totally altered the look. The third picture is the most accurate for color. Interesting I am getting a lot of people who like the "bad light" photo better then the true colors.

Courtepointe 04-07-2009 10:55 AM

I would love the pattern, if you would send it to me.
I will pm you my email address.
Thank you!

Chele 04-07-2009 11:03 AM

I would adore that pattern! Especially since it's an original! You're the bomb! I hope I can do it justice!

kwhite 04-07-2009 12:54 PM

Chele just give it a try. If you learn anything at all you will have done it justice. You have Power point? I will email it right over.

Knot Sew 04-07-2009 02:45 PM

I like it . Nice job :D

shaverg 04-07-2009 02:54 PM

I would love the pattern. I do minatures, they are so much fun. I have not tried paper piecing, I have only done it the old fashion way, using Sally Collins technique. Please PM me the pattern

MadQuilter 04-07-2009 03:35 PM

Great job, what's the name of the pattern? It should have something with "mountain" in it.

beachlady 04-07-2009 03:38 PM

So tiny and beautiful. No wonder your back hurt. No headache though?

kwhite 04-07-2009 03:55 PM

I have a headache most every day. I live with it.
