My design wall isn't large enough. I have 4 more rounds plus the setting triangles for this layout. I will take it down and reassemble it on the floor. Tabletop heights just kills my back, (I am tall) so just cross your fingers that my knees hold out. This is from a pattern called Fabric Dance, but I think I will call my King size quilt From Dawn to Dusk.

I did notice the two blocks that are positioned incorrectly. They have been changed. The photo certainly helps point out error like that.

That's going to gorgeous.

Thusnelda 06-01-2011 11:03 AM

Double post - but I wanted to add something anyway:

Good luck with setting it out on the floor. I know the problem of back and knee striking on you when you want to do something like this. I hope you don't have a young cat. Mine was desperately trying to help when I lay out my last quilt on the living room floor.

MamaBear61 06-01-2011 11:05 AM

quilticing 06-01-2011 01:09 PM

Maybe lay out 1/4 of the quilt on the wall at a time?

Unfortunately it has to be assembled on the diagonal so I must have a complete row. I have now disassembled it, moved everything out of the way in the LR and am ready to start laying it out again. I hope to get it completely sewn together by the week-end. Fortunately there are no borders. If it goes together easily ( I hope, I hope) I should be able to keep to this time table. I have to have my eyes examined tomorrow afternoon, so I won't get anything done after about 2:30 tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I will post another pic when I get the top sewn together.

debcavan 06-01-2011 02:20 PM

Or you could just put the patches on one side to get an idea of how it looks. So far it is absolutely gorgeous

jojosnana 06-01-2011 02:31 PM

A fabulous creation. The colors are stunning and I like the name you gave it! I always name my quilts which gives them personality. Which blocks are out of place? I don't see it!
Peace

PS: Is that a King Charles? Beautiful :D

Across the bottom there is a blue and gray 4 patch and a gold and gray 4 patch turned the wrong direction.

Yes, Alex, is a Cavalier King Charles Tri-color.

booklady 06-01-2011 03:43 PM

Linda B 06-01-2011 03:46 PM

I love your quilt and your fabric choices. I'm a sucker for anything with batiks.
