In early Dec. I posted a picture of the soft book panel I found at Hobby Lobby. I thought I might be able to make a quilt out of the panel. Well, I did and I smile just looking at it...it is just so cute I think. It is for my 70 yr. old aunt that collects anything with mice on it. What do you think? I just used the blocks that spelled C H R I S T M A S. First gift made for Christmas 2011.

This is the quilt I made from the above.

Here is a close up. It has four borders, white, red, green and blue.

Love it. I have two Christmas fabric books that my kids have outgrown many years ago and wanted to make quilts out of them. Love how you did it. Isn't there a saying that "imitation the sincerest form of flattery"? Thanks for the idea.

I just bought the same panel and I'm going to do it as a quilt. I love the way you put yours together. Very, very nice!

ufoqueen 12-31-2010 04:02 PM

Thanks for sharing. I have made several quilts from soft books and my quilting teacher gave me a good tip: cut the squares on the lines of the page, even if it's not squared up, cause you can fudge on the borders and square it up. Hope what I'm trying to say is clear.

Carrie Jo 12-31-2010 04:08 PM
