Hi,

the name of this pattern is "Birdwalk", and you can find it in a book titled "Layers of Charm". You can find it on: www.minnesotacharms.com There are 14 patterns in the book and I just did another one of the patterns for myself. Really quick and easy to do!!

Your son has a flair for coordinating colors. It is a striking quilt along with being a very masculine quilt. However, I believe SID would not compliment his excellent choices. Either what nativetexan suggests or light meandering could be better. Belles

Me too -- I like the simple cross hatch. However, ask your son if he has a preference as he might like more of a pattern.

I have no idea how it should be quilted.... I just wanted to say that I love it and the colours are just right for the male of the species!

Hugs

get the whole thing uniquely quilted. it will be even more lovely.

I think it does need a little more than a stitch in a ditch.

I think so as well. If you use a taupe or neutral color 50wt thread it will pretty much blend in.
It's a really pretty quilt!! Er, I mean handsome! What is the name of the pattern please?

First gorgeous quilt! Second I think whatever you do will look great as long as it's a simple design.

Great colors in this quilt and whatever you decide it will only enhance its beauty more!

Check the label on the batting, and let that be your guide, and go for it. :-)

Lovely quilt and colors, I would just cross stitch in the squares, for a manly quilt.

kristen0112 09-11-2011 08:51 PM

lovely quilt. I don't think it's too busy. You've got nice large sqaures you could put a pattern in.

heather1949 09-11-2011 08:56 PM

Stippling would be fine and your quilt is awesome.

I agree also. An allover design would add to the quilt without taking away from the fabrics. Pretty quilt.

In my opinion, stitch in the ditch or simple Xs do not do anything for a quilt. As a man, I simple stippling, med to large, would be fine.

I agree.

I'm always interested in quilts for men and I think this one is very beautiful while still being masculine.

maggie2122 09-16-2011 07:36 PM

All over quilting, but something simple. Maybe just loops that look like big "e" and little "e". Or the curves in from each corner of the block. Very nice quilt, he did good picking out the material.

cherrio 09-16-2011 07:37 PM

either would look great. good looking quilt

Beautiful colors and quilt. I would do something simple and open overall along with the ditch. Anything will make it look good, but don't do something heavy.
