Would you believe ?????????

Would you believe that terri bb sent me this gorgeous quilt to practice my longarm quilting on? Now, let me tell you, I was scared to death. But, she reassured me that it was okay to try out anything I wanted to on there and if I messed it up, it would be okay. Now, I'm thinking that all of her toast aint buttered. Right? Cause there is no way, I'd let someone practice on one of my quilts especially if it looked anything like this one. In exchange for quilting, she has free rein to piece a top for me in whichever pattern she chooses. Fair exchange okay. I hope she isn't too disappointed with how it turned out. Do you think she will be happy or should I change my address and phone number?

ROFL re her toast being buttered!!!! lol But you rose to the occasion with honors!!! You really enhanced the quilt, which - on a quilt this gorgeous - would be hard to do!! Well done.

That is a "sampler" on steroids. You had a great opportunity to show your skill and wow, you did. I can only imagine the nerves it takes to takeoff on a beautiful quilt as that.

One great job on the quilting, pretty quilt too.

homecaregiver 11-27-2012 05:07 AM

It turned out her "toast was buttered" after all. She knew what hidden talents you had. You did a wonderful job and I too would keep my address and phone number. After all, you may want to do another switch with her one day. You could quilt for me anytime.

Not only is her toast buttered, I think she has some jam on it too!

You did a wonderful job on this!! Well balanced and very nice compliment to the peicing. Looks like you did some ruler work for your SID? Great work, Rulers and ditch work were not my friends until my 4th or 5th quilt. But even now they give me a bit of a fit when I slip out of that ditch. You are well on your way to being a wonderful LA quilter!

heather1949 11-27-2012 05:20 AM

I tried to use a ruler. heheheh! It slipped. So, I just eyeballed it and went ahead. Every now and then, the machine had a mind of its own. But, I found the faster I went on those places, the more control I had. I'm slow.... But, I'm learning. I have two more to do for her.... These are some she wants to sell, so, I'll do a few more practice quilts before I start on those. Thanks for all the compliments for terri and for me. She obviously hasn't seen this post yet. hehehe!

sewelegant 11-27-2012 09:25 AM

I think you need to leave town today! And on your way out - drop it off at my house so she'll never see it!!! I could hide it well for you in one of my bedrooms. :D

fred singer 11-27-2012 11:37 AM

fantastic job.

everbtrue 11-27-2012 12:06 PM

Run & hide! Bring the machine & your talent to my house!!! I can keep you hidden for a long time. Seriously, it's beautiful.

CherryPie 11-27-2012 01:37 PM

OMG....you did an awesome job at quilting it. Terri bb knew you had it in you. Terri bb did a fantastic job on the top, too. You two make quite a team!!! You're doing so good at using your LA for the short time that you've had it. One of these days, you'll just be whipping them out in no time. lol

sewingsuz 11-27-2012 01:57 PM

You did a great job. The quilt is stunning and the quilting.

ube quilting 11-27-2012 02:38 PM

happy is the correct answer! Beautiful quilt and wonderful job quilting. I like the way you followed the block patterns so they show on the reverse. Very cool.
