Those are so cute, If you put a border on them, I would make it a small one.

Plumtree 04-23-2013 02:53 AM

I would put a small 2-3 inch border on it in the aqua or red then bind it in whichever one you didn't use for border. It is absolutely beautiful as is and a nice dark aqua binding will finish it. I guess I am no help I think either way you have a beautiful quilt :-)

I agree! A thin binding would be pretty.

I vote for a border. of course, I think everything needs a frame :-)

I would, I think.
I'd probably use a much darker aqua or red-orange as a narrow border (cut 1.75") against the blocks and then whatever else you wished for a bit wider border.

Jan in VA

I agree with Jan, if it were me, I would put a darker border to make the colors in your quilt "pop"

nananurse 04-23-2013 03:54 AM

I agree with Diane007 a thin border then one the width of the blocks. Both are beautiful. Love the fabric!

SusanSusan33 04-23-2013 03:56 AM

Beautiful quilt- the colors are perfect!! Let me know if you need any adopted nieces!! ;)

quilter2theend 04-23-2013 04:09 AM

On the first quilt a narrow gray border than a little wider peach one. On the second the dark peach like that in the 3rd square on the right side of the quilt, than a blue border like a color in the quilt. Try laying colors next to them and see what you think. Let us know how it goes.

Yooper32 04-23-2013 04:17 AM

Jan took the words out of my brain before I got here. That is just about the same thing I would have said, had I not been tardy.

Letty 04-23-2013 04:19 AM

If you really don't want to add a border because you don't want to increase the size, then just bind it with perhaps a darker aqua, that would frame it.

klgls 04-23-2013 04:21 AM

I think it would be fine without a border since it's already a good size. Your binding will make a nice "frame" for it.

orangeroom 04-23-2013 04:22 AM

If you wanted to, add a small border, then bind it with the same fabric.

quilting nurse 04-23-2013 04:28 AM

I think the quilt is great without a border.I used to put borders on all my quilts and now I realize that alot of times it takes away from the quilt itself. You hear alot of quilters say"I need to make the quilt larger so I'll add another border "and that is what you see an added border to made the quilt larger NOT to enhance the look.Let your quilt speak to you...

Daisy Dew 04-23-2013 04:31 AM

I think I'd use a grey inner border to mimic the center then an aqua outer border half the size of one of the outer blocks and bind with that same aqua. Nice quilts.

frenchfryqueen 04-23-2013 04:35 AM

I think a thin white border just to frame it would be lovely.

psquared52 04-23-2013 04:49 AM

Very pretty! And yes to a border!

Jingle 04-23-2013 04:54 AM

I would put a narrow border on them, probably a darker one. Wouldn't add that much to the size. Then finish it up.
Beautiful colors on both.

girliegirl 04-23-2013 05:05 AM

If it was me, I would go with a peach and coral.... bind it in aqua.

quiltmom04 04-23-2013 05:14 AM

Depends on how big you want it. I think this would look fine with just a binding, because the squares have the look of a large border for the panel. But either way would be pretty !

WMD926 04-23-2013 06:12 AM

I would put a border on it. Maybe use the grey that borders the center block. That would pull it all together. Very pretty.

matraina 04-23-2013 06:35 AM

I would like a border on it also. I like borders on my quilts for the most part.

bibi 04-23-2013 06:39 AM

I like Jan's in VA ideas. Whichever way you go, you created some very nice quilts.

cpcarolyn 04-23-2013 06:58 AM

I'd put a small boarder to frame it.

llong0233 04-23-2013 08:06 AM

Absolutely. It's a great quilt and when you get a darker border on it it will be even better.

JuneD 04-23-2013 08:13 AM

I would border it. Maybe a darker salmon color or dark blue.

Mariposa 04-23-2013 08:16 AM

I'd add a thin border of a red, then a larger border in a darker aqua. JMHO~

And since I bought a whole Fq pack, I made another one for my other great niece

I think a border with the orange and put a thin strip of aqua in the center of the orange.
I Think that would set it off perfectly.

MargeD 04-23-2013 08:28 AM

I definitely think borders - peach on the first one and aqua on the second. Just MHO.

reginalovesfabric 04-23-2013 08:31 AM

I'm a border type person and yes I would

Butterscotch Daisy 04-23-2013 09:02 AM

IMHO . . . I agree with most of the others - a narrow border followed by a wider one. But..if that's not what you are feeling, what about a dark (Aqua maybe) binding that is just a tad bit wider than a 'normal' binding just to give it a frame?

Auntie Em 04-23-2013 04:12 PM

I feel it does need a border....just LOVE the pattern and colors!!!

I agree with Dunster. Love them both! Gorgeous! Both look good as they are but if you want to put a border round them, a thin one would work too or just the binding on its own would be sufficient. I'll be watching to see what you decide. Best wishes. Thank you for sharing. :)

gellybean402 04-23-2013 06:17 PM

I agree with an aqua border. it will help make the aqua color pop!

KyKaren1949 04-23-2013 08:23 PM

It's pink??? It looks orange and aqua on here. I would like to see an aqua border.

suzanprincess 04-23-2013 10:49 PM

I think just the binding would be enough "border" to act as a frame. I lean toward the same gray used to frame the center block. Borders would be good if you needed it larger, but since you don't, you can go "modern."

Inspired Senior 04-24-2013 05:26 PM

Why not a border like the one around the center?

mighty 04-25-2013 06:21 AM

They are both beautiful!
