Because the quilts are already at the size she requested (60"), I would simply bind the quilts with one of the bright colors from the quilts.

I just did this same quilt with these fabrics !!! I love that line ! I am not using a boarder...

I think it would be a clean look to make a narrow white border then a grey border to enhance what you have in the middle.

For me, I would put a border on it to showcase the lovely fabrics.

It needs a border to tie all the squares on the outside together!
