That's a beautiful quilt and such a wonderful thing to do. I'm sure you'll cry too - I know I would. I already have tears in my eyes! Love the new blocks. Post that picture when it's done too please.

Wonderful quilts !! Yes you will cry ;) but it is so rewarding to be involved in giving back to out military...for their sacrifices are many as is their families. I quilt for Quilts of Valor IN temecula. Each friday we meet at a local quilt shop to work on * kits * that get put into tops and so forth. My son served 5 years for the NAVY. So many oppose the war but we need to remember those who fight on our behalf and honor them period. So many ways to do that. My husband flies for business a lot and recently exchanged his first class ticket with a young soldier. Just took the ticket out of his hand and handed him the new one with out making a fuss..later in the flight the pilot thanked the group of soldiers flying home that day and later while hubby was in back middle seat near noisy engine lOL.. the attendant brought him a sandwich, beer and ice cream. Those around wondered why the special treatment. LOl Thank a soldier today :). for your freedom.

I had not quite realised the extent/how many wounded American service persons there are from the current conflict/s. I watch television whilst ironing and caught part of an Oprah programme in which Oprah was visiting with wounded service personnel and discussing the statistics. I was stunned...they were all so young and so very brave. As a mother my heart goes out to them and their families. I am sure the quilts made so lovingly will help them immensely in their recovery and give them comfort during the tough days.

Your finished quilt & quilt to be are stunning! Thank you for doing this for our service personnel who make a GREAT sacrifice of themselves to defend this country for all of us!
