Yes, they do, I know my son always appreciated the cards that got sent to him at holidays and birthdays in iraq.. I found a ton of them in his belongings.. I knew not any of the people and they were strangers to him...yet wanted to thank a military person.. kindness goes a long ways.

Nice to meet another quilter who honors the wounded with a quilt. You have inspired me to finish another patriotic quilt that is sitting in a box for the American Heroes program here in Washington State. Thanks again!

I don't know how the VA Hospital picks the receipients of the quilts. An AF Colonel I work with did the legwork with the Hospital when I had completed the quilt. The next one (blocks in my original post) will have a Marine Corps insignia appliqued in the center of one of the blocks, so it will go specifically to a Marine. I also have fabric with the insignias for the Army, AF, and Navy for future quilts.
On another note, I received EQ7 today and spent the evening "designing" the next WW quilt (the one I'm currently working on). I have never used the EQ SW and I found it very easy to use and maneuver around. I even scanned in the fabrics. Thank you all for your responses and dedication to our service men and women.
