Wrapped Up In Grandma's Love
10 Attachment(s)
Made for a friend at work. Her sister was having her first baby. A few months before the baby was born, their grandmother passed away. So my friend asked me if I could make a baby quilt out of her grandmother's clothes for the great-granddaughter she'd never meet. The appliqued animals were made out of scraps from my stash. All the other pieces (the background of the animals) and the other squares and lattice work were made out of the grandmothers clothes, mostly PJ's and some shirts. It was presented to the baby at her Baptism. I didn't go to the Baptism, but my friend said there wasn't a dry eye when she opened it up and realized it was her grandmother's clothes.

I know - it's hard to pick a favorite. Each time I did one, that one became my favorite, but if I had to pick one I would say it's the penguin, then the duck. I think there were 4 pictures that I didn't load up because of space. They are a butterfly, frog, elephant and monkey. |
