Kudos to the quilt rescuers! I myself, cannot pass up rescuing any piece of a quilt, whether's its one block or an entire top. To me it represents the heart-beat of the American woman......preserving America protecting her family...one piece at a time. Horray for us!!

I'm not a sentimental person. My husband isn't either. I don't think my son will be, either. If I don't like something, I have no problem getting rid of it. I don't see anything wrong with selling it, if she didn't want it!
For the people who judge her (and therefore me) I feel sorry for you because you allow your stuff to own you.
My mother's mother made quilts and she told me she doesn't want me to make her one because she has so many. I'll respect her wishes.
Someone gave me a quilt top when she considered me one of her daughters and I considered her my little momma. She broke my son's heart and stabbed me in the back, so I'd have no problem putting that in a yard sale and I hope I'd get $25 for it.

So glad you rescued it from an uncaring family!! I could NEVER part with my old quilts like that. It's lovely, and I can tell you will love having it.

Where I live we have a huge flea market once a month. My daughter & I went this month & I was absolutely shocked at the amount of old quilts that were there for sale! All were made for some occasion or another, some really well quilted, some not. Some thread bare in spots from use. But the prices! Cheap! Cheap! Cheap!! Then the other spectrum was new quilts that come from China & their prices! They're a whole lot cheaper than any of us can make them, but, of course, the quality isn't there either. It makes it difficult to try and price ones we make for sale.
I'm really glad you found this one & am giving it a good home! It's a beautiful quilt!

Some people just don't get it....I means the comment about selling someone's handmade quilts and things. My DH and DD know to call my friends and have them come through and pick out what they want and them they can give the rest to charity quilts or sell it and use the money for a big party!!! Of course the fabricholics I have as friends I don't think they could have a very big party!!!!!
