I am repairing a dresden plate quilt that someone put in an auction dog hair and all. It is old too.

Beaautiful quilt -what a lot of work someone has put into it.

That is gorgeous! I could never have sold something like that!

I asked someone the question about why she was selling me her grandmother's beautiful hand-sewn quilt top and the answer was simply that there were many others, and "You can't keep everything." There is wisdom in that, especially if owning the item will brighten up someone else's world a bit. It's like spreading sunshine from her mom. Enjoy it.

That quilt is simply beautiful. All the work and love went into it and now it is passed on to you to love even more, how wonderful you found it in time and will give it the love it deserves.

I just spent the morn. in my sewing rm. cleaning off the many shelves of "stuff" including tons of internet patterns, needlework pattern books, etc. It's amazing how the sentimentality dwindled the more I got into it. I just need them to be gone.

Since losing my husb. 4 yrs. ago & knowing I have to sell my home in the next yr. or so, I can see the huge job I'll have emptying it after being here for 38 yrs. That may be the position that seller was in & the burden was greater than the sentiment.

You found a beaut. quilt & I think fate brought you to it. At least it's now in loving hands.
