YAY! Two old UFO's finished!
 

These two quilts were started years ago. The first one is "Granny Squares" which I found in the Oct 2010 American Patchwork & Quilting magazine. I started it right away and actually loved piecing the 1-1/2" scrap strips, but trying to attach the border..yikes! So the poor quilt was banished to the back of the closet for over three years. Sadly, the quilt was not alone in there & had many UFO's for company. So, this year my goal is to dig them all out and finish them.

The second one free from the closet is a 2010 BOM from a local quilt shop. It taught me that if I'm going to buy a block each month, I should sew it each month. I did that until around August, but the Christmas projects came up, and you know what that means...tossed into the closet graveyard. Now, I found out I only had blocks for 11 months or maybe it's still hiding from me? Fortunately, I had enough scraps from the other blocks to make the Lemoyne Star and complete the top. It's still on my design wall until I decide how I want to quilt it. No more hiding it away!

Oops, I just realized that I didn't take a final photo of the Granny Squares, but it is actually finished and quilted and now has a good home. I'm just attaching the "in process" photo.

Any suggestions on quilting the BOM quilt?

Good work! That border on the granny Squares quilt does look like a challenge! Great job finishing them.

Both are beautiful. But I really love how the brown enriches the Granny Squares.
