i started by making the pinwheel block in the center, but Trinity (my 8 yr old DD) decided she just wanted squares like the 1 she designed for her kitty... so she picked out fabrics and decided where each square would go.. she rearranged them so many times over the last couple weeks lol.. she made sure that i didnt sew 2 of the same squares together anywhere :D
the center block equaled the same as 4x4 squares... so i decided 14 squares across and 20 down instead of the 15x21 i had planned so that it could be in the direct center :D It is 60x80 now without any borders, although i would like to add 1 or 2 to it. but it is the first top ive made that is actually big enough for a bed (not counting baby and play quilts) Im so happy. Trinity is so excited and proud :D I will add borders this week, then it will be getting sent off to be quilted as soon as the backing i ordered for it gets here :D Now she wants to use the leftover squares to make curtains  13 yr old had to stand on a dining chair for the pic |

She designed this 1 for her kitty first :D and even did some of the quilting on it herself :D i gave her a charm pack and told her to arrange them in 6 rows of 7. She loved it
i still have to finish the binding on 1 side, but this was the 1 that made her decide she wanted a similar 1 for herself the more i look at the top of her quilt, i wonder if its supposed to be so long lol... i guess im just used to making smaller square 1s... just seems odd that its so long. |
How sweet is that they have matching quilts  She has a great eye for color and is developing good habits of arranging fabrics  Keep up the good work
