Yea. I did it

I have been trying to do a quilt like this (I think it's called the lone star) and never could get the 45 degree angle and the y seams correct. Then came across Debbie Maddy patterens. It's made with HST. I think I'll keep this one..
thanks for looking:):) |
Pretty quilt.

You are a brave woman....I have not had the nerve to try one of these...
Gorgeous!!! Love the colors!!
Very nicely done.
Really nice quilt. HSTs? I'm going to have to track down that pattern.
Gorgeous quilt! It is hard to believe that you could do it with HSTs. I will have to take a look at that pattern line. Thanks for sharing.
It's beautiful - brave lady, I don't have the nerve to start one of these things
very nicely done
Nice job, this is on my bucket list
Very pretty quilt. Congratulations to you on finding a pattern that didn't require set=in seams.
Great job!
very pretty!!!
Excellent use of color and movement! Good job!
Good job, I have not heard of making a lone star that way. I have done many lone star quilts, and with the strip piecing they are easier than you think. Don't be afraid, dive right in.
Very well done.
I love your quilt. Someday I hope to have the skills needed to make one that I would not be ashamed to display. For now I can only dream. LOL
How clever! Your quilt looks fantastic!
Awesome sauce!
Really nice quilt
You deserve to keep it-it is beautiful. Nice job.
Congratulations on the star it's beautiful. BrendaK

Thank you all so much.. the web site is www.calicocarriage.com she has a lot to star patterns and the are done in HST.
My sister wanted one of these years ago so I opted to do what you did by making it with the hst, only difference was mine was not a star in a square like yours, it just went out from the star using the hst. Even though I felt like I cheated back then it was still an accomplishment, so be proud of your quilt it's still a lot of work.
It's a beautiful quilt. I'm so glad you found that pattern. Thanks for sharing your work with us.
Lovely!!!!
Great job! I love her patterns, she has a broken lone star also along with a lot of others and they are all done with HSTs no set in seams
You sure did do it!! Looks just perfect. What's next?
Just lovely.
That would look so welcoming on a wall if you wanted to display it rather than on a bed. |
Wow!! That's gorgeous! You definitely nailed it!
Great job accomplishing your goal of making this star quilt. I think it looks great on that wall space in your quilting room. I guess you would have to give up your flannel wall.:)
wow, awesome job... you should be proud (and relieved). : )
Beautiful quilt
It's great. Love it!
I'd keep that one too, it's beautiful. I have seen the HST method on a quilting show and it looks so much easier, and your results are great, you should be proud.
Very pretty and keep on a quilting !!!
Great job! Definitely on my bucket list.
