Yikes! King size batik quilt
 

We recently updated the art in our bedroom, so I thought I should make a new quilt to complete the change. I decided on Batiks and a simple pattern since you know, it's a king size quilt. About halfway through, I started second guessing myself thinking the fabrics were to busy. I put it aside for a bit; it was hard to lay out to see the placement I wanted since I don't have a lot of floor space. I finally just decided to do it in sections and finish it up. Yes, it was a bear to wrestle all that fabric around, but I am happy with the end result. I just quilted it with wavy lines using my walking foot and also made matching shams with the scraps. Thanks for looking :-)

Beautiful quilt! It is perfect for your room. I just complements your artwork wonderfully well. I know that making a quilt of that size has its challenges but you managed them perfectly. One of the things I like most about it is that the size of the elements is in balance with the size of the quilt-very pleasing balance.

Fantastic. Love the shams too. Way to go to not only have the full drops on three sides but to cover the pillows also. I have made a queen size but can't imagine a king. Beautiful colors.

Thank you for a the nice comments. Here I thought I was done with king size quilts for a (long) while, and my mom calls me up last night to say she saw a photo of the quilt I made for my daughter's bed (queen) and she wants one exactly like it...only king size! ARRRG!!!!!!!

It's beautiful and does not jump out at you. The colors are more subdued so work well together. I also have a batik quilt on my bed that I had made, have had it on my bed for at least 5 years and still love it. It comes out of the wash beautifully also. It was a bear to FMQ though because it is large but I can say "I made it all myself".

Nice quilt and good work with the redecorating. I love the metal bed and the bench. they complement the quilt very well.
