A couple of days ago my DH and my 3 year-old DGD helped me build my quilting frame. Today my DGD asked if she could "help me do it". So I gave her a long needle and some thread, showed her the "stab" method and off she went. I now have a 6 inch area that is basted to the max!! But she loved it.

Hey, Granna, this is fun. Can I have more thread?

I wish I could but I am quilting this for a friend. It was made in the 30's and he is going to give it to the maker's daughter as a gift.

Can I borrow her, it's just taken me all evening to layer a quilt!

quiltinggirl 08-27-2011 11:50 AM

She'll remember this moment for as long as she lives! You should continue teaching her all you know as long as she is interested. :)

How about some cheater fabric. Sandwich it and put it in an embroidery hoop. Maybe make it the size for a doll quilt.
