Yeah, two more quilters Blue may have been chosen because it was the favorite color, but it sure looks nice.

Super - all round! Teaching them a life long skill, allowing them to choose their own fabrics, and creating a lasting memory. And helping them help others with the charity part of it... Wow, what great life lessons they are getting. God bless you for sharing your talents and love with them.

They may not speak the same language, but quilting (as you clearly already know) has no language barrier. How amazing that you thought to include and teach them, your love of quilting. That is a wonderful quilt. Can't wait to see what the second one looks like. Hopefully I don't miss it. I work 12 hour days too and tend not to get on here on those days. I'm sure you could donate each of the girls' second quilts too. Remember recipients are not the quilt police, and if they are, they don't deserve a quilt. How wonderful it is that you've kept them busy and excited and have been teaching them each a skill. We have a friend who came to the U.S. from Ukraine. She learned how to sew and has a career as a seamstress now. Good luck to you and the girls!

I guess I was as clear as mud. I do speak Polish, so we are able to communicate. :)

These are two of the people who are certainly eligible for charity quilts.

However, instead of getting one that I made, they are making their own--with me helping and providing materials. (Their mom may make $500/mo--for all 3 of them...they have no bathroom, one room for all of them and no internet/computer. However, their mom doesn't complain.... School books alone will cost over $150 per child for the new school year.)

So, they are making their own.

After they learn to sew, if they continue to want to sew and need to come over on Sunday afternoon, I will ask them to help me with simply sewing two colors of blocks together as I have plenty of colorful blocks for future quilts (as in a two patch quilt).
