Your quilt is beautiful love the black and white. I have a question what is that foldy stuff done on muslin?? It looks like your strips are folded. How is this done?

You draw the grid on muslin, then each strip is cut 3 inches wide and folded in half and sewn to the muslin so that the blocks are 3 D. The Ricky Tims method of constructing flying geese only uses one seam and it also makes a folded 3-D goose. I plan to hand quilt a black X in each block using # 5 black pearl cotton in order to preserve the 3-D
effect and not flatten it out as conventional quilting would. I hope that explains it. There is a web site for foldy stuff patterns.

Nice! Clever how you used the flying geese on only 2 corners. Love it!

Very cool quilt! I think the bias binding will look great - especially if you add black first to help it stand out. If you need the quilt a lot bigger, I can even visualize an inch of red, then two inches of black...

Let us see it again when it is done!

Oh yes, the black would really pop :)
