The first one is bright and gorgeous! My aunt did this same lovely work on this exact same fabric for my mom, it is now mine, and I treasure it. :D

Both have a nice quality - why not alternate them for a bit of contrast and variety? I am making a navy blue chicken scratch at the moment but am in a bit of a dilemma as to how to quilt it. What approach are you going to take?
