Yuletide Magic...

I love this quilt and it's staying with us. I have detailed everything on it! I brought it to my LQS for a suitable red binding fabric & the lady there wanted to see it opened out. She was blown away that I'd free motioned around all those reindeer, reigns, sleighs, etc, etc, etc.. She told me I did a really nice job! I was so proud of it! :-) So far, everyone who's seen it tells me they're going to distract me and run off with it. LOL! As if... :-)

Beautiful quilt I would also keep it for myself. It looks like a lot of work but worth it. Sue

Is it printed fabric or are those appliques (the sleigh, reindeer, etc)?

joyce888 11-07-2012 05:48 PM

It's gorgeous - need my address?

ScrapQuilter 11-07-2012 06:16 PM

I can see why you are keeping it. Great quilt you did a wonderful job.

Tartan 11-07-2012 06:23 PM

It's beautiful! I have seen something similar that was done with a light felt. Is yours done that way or regular appliqué?

I bought it as a panel a year ago and then last Christmas went through hundreds of online stores to find the border and back fabric. No one had the one did finally get. I felt very fortunate to find it! The only appliques on this quilt are the holly leaves. The berries are buttons.

Very nice! I was so lucky to finally have finally found this panel after looking for it since Oct. last year. I saw this done up at the Madison WI Quilt Expo last year and 'had' to have it, but they were out and the vendor did not have any left at their shop. After constantly on the lookout for it and googling it for a year with no luck, I was thrilled to stumble upon it at the Expo this year. I thought it quite amazing a vendor had several panels in stock. Haven't done anything with it yet as I have several projects going at once, but this is on my list. You did a great job on this!

Beautiful piece! :)

LadyElisabeth 11-09-2012 09:11 AM

It appeals to me because it has blocks from "olden" times, like when I was a little girl.

wordpaintervs 11-09-2012 10:11 AM

Sure pretty and no wonder you are keeping it for yourself. Good job.
