Zipper Bags

1 Attachment(s)
I'm so proud of myself. I actually started making some Christmas gifts. I made these little zipper bags to give to some of my friends. I used this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsbsB8EGkR8 I'm going to make another bag and maybe a tissue cover to go with them.

My upstairs A/C is out and it's about 89 up here now so I'm going downstairs for a shower and a nap. A/C will be fixed tomorrow afternoon and the downstairs A/C is working so I'm good. :o

Thanks for looking.

I love your bags!!!!!!!! I want to make some. I got one of those long long zippers that you can cut to fit, makes about 12 I think, something like that. Thanks for the inspiration to get going on them :)

Her tutorial is really pretty easy. I did use a fusible fleece on the outside fabrics and quilted them with some straight lines. The one thing I would have done differently is to serger the bottom seam and side seams so they'd be more finished.

Where do you get those long long zippers? Also, can you purchase zipper pulls separately?

I love those zipper bags. I just made 4, and have been experimenting and changing things up also. Bought some pre-quilted fabric, and that worked fine. Yours are bright and colorful!

I'm always really busy in the fall between car shows, quilt festival and a few other things I'm involved in so I decided this year to get some of my Christmas gifts done during the summer when I have time.

Here are a few of the zipper bags I've been making. Takes only about 15 min. to make each after cutting out. I just looked at the tute I printed and it doesn't say where I downloaded from. I know it was free and will try to find it and post for you. I thought these were cute and I had these lacey zippers already. I guess you could use regular ones too. Maybe one of these with your cute zipper bag and tissue holder . They have vinyl on the front so you see the fabric that is inside. You could just use fabric for the front too. I got my vinyl at Wal-Mart.

I have several friends I met thru an online forum for dachshund lovers. We've exchanged gifts for years now. I dug into my 5 boxes of dog fabric and found some to use, plus one for my cousin (non-dog) and one for the receptionist in our building who loves chihuahuas. I'm going to work on some zipper tissue holders to go with them this weekend.

lawsonmugs 08-01-2017 09:26 AM

I found the download on Craftsy it's free It is called "Lace Zipper Pouch". Patrice can you show or share the zippered tissue holder please. I love your dog fabrics. Your bags will be so handy. Very nice gifts

caspharm 08-01-2017 10:25 AM
