I found this great DIY tutorial from { The Seasoned Homemaker} for a Boxy Pouch-- decided I had to make one. I love how it came out & plan to make many more. :)
it didn't take long & I see so many possibilities. No exposed seams
first pic is the whole bag/ box; second one I stuck a square ruler in to try to show the inside-- doesn't show so great, I will have to work on photography skills. 😏

orangeroom 07-16-2016 03:15 AM

Very pretty! Looks like it can fit a lot too! Hmm...I have a baby shower to give...wonder how many of these I can make for it?

Love the fabric and the bag came out very cute. I never liked sewing zippers.

tkhooper 07-16-2016 04:23 AM

I love your boxy pouch with zipper. It makes a nice kit bag as the guys used to call them.

This is very nice. Great job! I would like to make one of these for a shaving kit for my husband. It would make a great gift, especially if it was stuffed with toiletries or make-up.

Mariposa 07-16-2016 07:50 AM

Nice work on the boxy pouch! :)

Great colors! I saw another tute on this ages ago made from (hand) towels?? Some size of towels, but I like regular cottons better. But the instructions were great. Now, if I could only find it....

JuneBillie 07-16-2016 11:28 AM

Your bag is really pretty, and looks like it can hold many different items. The fabric is gorgeous for this bag. :)

btiny36, thank you for posting the link-- I didn't know how.
Today I made another one, this time using her measurements ( the first one is larger) it took me about 1 1/2 hours to do-- not too bad considering a had a few interruptions. :)

dunster 07-16-2016 05:19 PM

Great job on your pouch. I watched the video, which is much better done than many sewing/quilting videos, even those made by pros. Thanks for the link.

twinkie 07-17-2016 04:06 AM

Simply darling.

I have made this pattern out of vinyl screen (pet screen) and used it for in a picnic baskets to hold forks, spoons and knives. I make picnic bags as wedding gifts - puts in plates, cups, graham cracks, marshmellows, chocolate bars and sticks.

Donnasue 07-17-2016 04:59 AM

If you could do a water-proof lining, great for make-up for woman and shaving kits for me!!

caspharm 07-17-2016 06:00 AM

ScubaK 07-17-2016 08:24 AM

I bet the vinyl lined flannel from Joanne's would work for ' waterproof' , could be fun.

joyce888 07-17-2016 10:42 AM

Great job! Love the fabric/color choices.

wendiq 07-17-2016 02:33 PM

Well Done. I also like the suggestion of using a vinyl lining. Would be super handy for both men and women.....

callen 07-17-2016 04:06 PM

annette1952 07-17-2016 07:43 PM

kaylfordsollimo 07-18-2016 02:39 AM

Looks good to me. And, your "ruler trick" was just fine.

Great idea! Please show us pictures if you can. Also, the picnic bags filled with Smore ingredients sound wonderful.

What's that flannel they used to use on baby beds, so if they wet it wouldn't go thru to the mattress? It had a "rubbery" center??
