Thank you! I'm honestly not discouraged. I love this, and I'm perfectly willing to spend the time fixing my stupid mistakes. I appreciate your kind words!

Hate to say it but I do it the same as sewmorethings. I always buy at least a quarter yard ( and if I really like the fabric I'll buy half a yard) more than I need because I have had too many times that they cut the fabric short (Not on purpose, usually I think it's because we were talking) or I make a mistake of some kind. I don't do this at my local LQS but if I go anywhere not close to home I buy extra because you just never know what's going to happen! This has saved me numerous times! I learned the hard way!

It's so easily done. I'm a mathematician, and I STILL manage to make mistakes measuring and cutting. It is so easy to lose concentration. I try to work things out beforehand, write down everything I need to cut in a clear list, then tick off the list as I cut. But it still goes wrong sometimes, as you think about the next cup of coffee, or what to cook for dinner that night!!

I totally understand the math thing. I am good at figures. But, I really did not geometry. I made that statement so many times that my dh (the geometry teacher) quotes me everytime I ask him a question and adds "if you only would have listened in class". I am so glad I don't ask him very often.
I too came up short a few quilts ago. Measured just the way quiltville says. I have no clue what happened. I just must not have been careful enough or just totally spaced out. I feel you pain, LOL!

It is a beautiful quilt with beautiful straight lines. Nice. I usually have to go to Joanns at least 3 times to get it right.

Default Math???

Your quilt is awesome. I agree with another lady - I don't do math so I buy more than I need because I usually change the pattern at some point during construction. Yesterday started a new Easter tablerunner. You guessed it - cut wrong. So now I have a design change. In the long end it won't matter. Nobody will know but us. And we will only be upset with ourselves until the next project hits our table.

LOL I am glad I'm not the only one that goofs occasionally. I usually leave my edges way too long because early on I did the same thing.

I know the feeling. I have to be very careful. The nearest decent fabric store for me is 45 miles away.
