I noticed that no matter how carefully I thought I was laying out my Double Slice Layer Cake quilt, the same thing happened. Maybe while sewing blocks into rows, I switched something , liking it better, but not realizing that it was not going to co-ordinate with the row above/below. However, in the final analysis, I think that it just adds more interest to the whole picture and I am at peace with it. That's my story and I am stickin' to it.

Purples and greens go together so well one of my favourite combos.

It looks wonderful, and the background wall color makes it even better!

Pretty! I am (still) working on a baby quilt in similar colours and I totally agree about the random thing. I love the scrappy look but I don't think I'll ever be happy with random scrappiness. As you have discovered, it is hard work to keep the balance of colours right to prevent the eye jump effect! It was like playing Sudoko putting mine together.

I think your random placement works well. the colors are spread over the area evenly with no spots to dark or light .

On my screen it has a foggy, misty look like an early spring morning. Very very nice.
    peace

It looks good to me! I love purple and green together....feminine, but not frilly.
